    As a Payroll Operations Specialist, you will work across the organization to research and resolve a variety of payroll inquiries.

    You will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise on best practices as a specialist in Justworks Labs systems. You believe in the value of in-person collaboration, and look forward to spending time with your coworkers.


    What You Will Work On:


    Work independently to execute day-to-day operations for Justworks Labs payroll systemEnsure all customer payrolls and taxes are paid on time and accurately, including adjustments, Comfortable working to resolve client requests via tickets, email and/or phoneField and manage income withholding orders/garnishments, and verifying other relevant customer payroll dataProactively identify and resolve payroll discrepancies in Justworks Labs systemField payroll, tax, and compliance questions/concerns from various teams, escalating to additional ops team members as indicated Assist with developing workflows and processing changesAssist with communications designed for both customer and internal purposes as it relates to filing, payroll, penalty, payment, and other related topics.


    Perform other related duties as assignedQualifications:2-3 years of hands on payroll processing experiencePrevious experience as a payroll specialist working for a payroll providerFamiliarity with basic business process management activities (process mapping, improvement, implementation, etc.)Aptitude for quickly learning new products and subject matterMeticulous and detail-oriented, pride yourself in finding mistakes or errorsFlexible and calm under pressure with an ability to thrive in a changing and complex environmentWork effectively within a team, yet have the ability to take initiative and work effectively on your ownWIlling to work longer days/weeks during busy seasons, and until the team scales, act as on-call support in partnership with your manager.

    Mastery of Excel a plusPrior experience with Atlassian Software (Jira and Confluence) a plus$ $39.67 an hourThe base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $36.06 to $39.67per hour.
