    Job Description:

    The Marketing Communications department is recruiting a pool of applicants for adjunct teaching positions in the areas of marketing communications, video production, computer applications, journalism, brand management, public relations, marketing research, copywriting, digital marketing, or media planning. The ideal candidate will be a creative and business-driven professional with proven executive experience in the marketing communications fields relevant to today's industry.

    Adjunct instructors are expected to teach the required 15-week class schedule. Candidates must have excellent communication skills; a commitment to quality education and student-centeredness; be part of a collaborative team; be informed of the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion, aligning with the FIT mission and standard practices.

    Requirements:

    Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, marketing communications, or a related area.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years as an executive in the marketing communications industry.
    Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or Master's degree in marketing, marketing communications, or a related field preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • A demonstrated knowledge of current marketing communications business practices, including - marketing trends, research methodologies and databases, content creation, and social media platforms.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and Learning Management Platforms.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific technology skills relating to software programs including but not limited to Adobe CC.
  • The ability to create and execute team projects to develop students' interpersonal skills related to resolving challenges presented in the marketing industry.

    MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND WORKING REQUIREMENTS:

    This position will be required to constantly read and comprehend, occasionally perform calculations, constantly verbally communicate, frequently analyze, and constantly write. The working conditions for this position will be any combination of the classroom, lab, and/or office space. Certain roles may be required to handle machinery and chemicals. The physical
    requirement for this position will require occasional sitting, constant standing, occasional bending, frequent walking, and occasionally lifting 10 lbs. or less.

    Additional Information:

    This is a part-time position, adjunct teaching position beginning in Fall 2023. Review of applications will commence immediately and continue until the position is filled. The department will keep this posting open to create a pool of candidates for potential future adjunct assignments. The department will contact applicants who qualifications fit our programmatic needs.

    The UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) dictates the compensation, benefits, and conditions of employment. The hourly rate and appointment rank will be based on education level and cumulative experience.
    Starting Rate: $77.43 per hour with step increments per Salary Schedule 97, after one year of service and annually thereafter.
