    Captive Business Development & Program Manager

    This position is responsible for the successful program development and management of assigned Captive programs. The Program Manager will develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners to foster positive program results. The Program Managers' major purpose is to profitably grow their assigned Captive Programs and achieve underwriting excellence.

    Responsibilities:

    Program Management:
    Work with clients, service providers and staff to develop assigned Captive program business
    Screen potential prospects and programs to determine "fit" for current objectives

    Coordinate all aspects of program management such as actuarial pricing, claim or TPA oversight, fronting and reinsurance placement, accounting, governmental interface and collateral management.

    Possesses a deep understanding of P&C insurance, Captives, and program business.
    Demonstrated responsiveness and dedication to customers and follow through on service commitments.
    Manage program to achieve underwriting excellence, pricing adequacy and targeted ROE's.
    Work with Member/Owners directly to help achieve the objectives of the program.
    Coordinate board meetings, committee meetings, and member experiences

    Production and Sales:
    Build proposals and contribute to Captive feasibility studies for new prospects
    Exhibits a commitment to finding ways to develop new programs.
    Works with President and COO to achieve growth objectives.
    Leverages vendor relationships to drive new business and renewal retention opportunities.

    Relationship and Team skills:
    Demonstrates excellent working relationships with all internal business associates leading to a high level of customer satisfaction.
    Builds strong relationships with Captive vendors, clients, Account Manager and regulators
    Closely manages results and implements specific actions to address shortfalls.

    Qualifications:
    5+ years working experienced in insurance industry, including captive insurance
    Bachelor degree in Business, preferred in Finance
    Associates in Captive Insurance (ACI) is a plus
    Strong insurance coverage knowledge, both P&C and medical stop-loss
    Strong numeric reasoning skills and understanding of actuarial principles
    Strong sales, marketing and business development skills
    Superior relationship building skills including influencing and negotiation skills
    Robust problem solving and critical thinking skills
    Expert level skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and video meeting platforms
    Self-starter, able to work independently and in a remote environment
    Strong integrity and work ethic
    Good communicator both written and oral


    Duties:

    Evaluate Captive program opportunities to help assess new programs and prospects
    Reach out to new prospects to develop new program business
    Manage relationships with clients, agency partners, and insurance carriers.
    Able to educate clients on Captive insurance strategy and practices.
    Assist in the preparation of materials for new member onboarding.
    Provide presentations to prospects and current clients
    Limited travel to board meetings and client meetings
    Ensure programs align with business strategy and integrity standards
    Manage financial data, claim reports, etc. to clients and professional partners.
    Strategic interpretation and analysis of claims data.
    Develop content for distribution at board meetings.
    Create, maintain and improve formal processes and procedures.
    Prepare necessary information for Captive renewals to include carrier marketing, recommendations, and resolution.
    Facilitate Committee and Board meetings including providing detailed reports and seeking resolution to issues.

    Duties:


    Develops and maintains positive work relationships with team members to include; participating in team meetings, providing back up when necessary, communicating information and feedback, and effectively problem solving as situations arise.

    Develops and maintains positive working relationships with staff to ensure customer needs are met.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


    General knowledge and ability of Captive/employee benefits/self-funded medical coverage and the ability to apply that knowledge in the performance of the job duties.

    General knowledge of Captive/employee benefits/ self-funded medical coverage, forms, policies and claims.
    Ability to analyze simple to complex coverage requirements, to identify appropriate resources, and to resolve insurance issues.

    Possesses excellent communication skills and apply these skills in either verbal or written form when interacting with various clients, company personnel, and team members.

    Possesses the ability to work effectively both independently as well as in a team environment to attain team and Captive goals.

    Possesses expert knowledge of various software packages such as, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to effectively use the internet/intranet.

    Ability and willingness to consistently participate in internal and external educational opportunities to enhance knowledge of current insurance topics or relevant system improvements.

    Ability to keep current on industry trends and develop relationships with contacts within the industry.
    Ability to work daily and extended hours as necessary.
    Ability to work remotely and travel to the main office as needed
