    Company Summary:

    Phigenics provides independent expert guidance and advanced technologies to our clients to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and overall safety of water systems. Our clients include a diverse mix of industry leaders in healthcare, hospitality, government, higher education, retail, and manufacturing facilities. Phigenics does not sell water treatment chemicals and is not biased toward any treatment technology or supplier.

    Position Summary:

    Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for supporting a Regional Manager (RM) and the rest of the Southeast Team in training, supporting major sales campaigns and the design, implementation, and deployment of Regional Water Management Programs. Business Development Managers will assist in business development efforts to help support all existing customer operations in the region. Business Development Managers will work closely with the RMs and Administrative support to ensure sales, revenue, forecasting, internal operations, and customer satisfaction goals are met. BDMS will have significant experience in successfully providing reliable, accurate, and organized customer account management, facility water system designs, HACCP water management programs, sample collection and data logging, and engaging with customers knowledgeably and professionally. BDMS must professionally manage customer accounts, respond quickly to customer needs and issues, solve complex problems, accurately maintain online customer databases, and successfully maintain customer relationships. This is a fully remote work position with a preferred location of Charlotte, NC.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and expand existing customer relationships and accounts
    • Identify potential sales and account expansion opportunities
    • Assist in production of comprehensive Water Management Programs and manage water testing requirements for clients.
    • Understand, explain and exhibit Phigenics Purpose, Values, and Strategy
    • Conduct existing client support calls
    • Present Proposals to potential and existing clients
    • Differentiate and relate Phigenics services within a client account and with competitors
    • Participate in Water Management Team meetings
    • Understand building water systems and infrastructure
    • Understand water chemistry
    • Be able to explain to potential clients how they may obtain Phigenics services
    • Read, understand, and implement contract requirements

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Understand building water systems, boiler systems, cooling towers / chiller systems, energy efficiency, utility engineering and how to calculate ROIs
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain relationships with cross-functional team members.
    • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
    • Self-motivated and directed. "Can do" attitude.
    • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
    • Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities.
    • Understand and use MS Office, Gmail and various Google applications.

    Training and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree, required in engineering or the sciences. Chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, chemistry, biochemistry or microbiology preferred.
    • 1 – 5 years of job experience preferred; water-related experience in engineering or the sciences is preferred. Customer and/or sales experience is preferred.

    Work Environment / Travel:

    Position requires traveling to client sites in North Carolina (with a focus on Charlotte, NC), holding meetings, servicing equipment, and collecting water samples. Some overnight travel will be involved. The majority of travel is within a 1.5 hour radius. Occasional travel up to a 3 hour radius may be required. Dress is normally a coat and tie or female equivalent. Wearing of PPE is sometimes required. The position often requires a great deal of walking around client sites, may include climbing stairs or ladders, and may require lifting up to 25 pounds.
