    Additionally, the Department continues to have a long and successful record in training Undergraduate, Master, and Graduate students at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

    The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine is seeking a full-time Research Assistant for the laboratory of Dr. Lee laboratory investigates cancer signaling and metabolism using cell lines, patient tumor tissues and animal tumor models. This research support position contributes to research/development by assisting with experiments in a controlled laboratory setting. The core responsibilities of this position include assisting with data collection and administration of experimental procedures.

    The position will assist with cell cultures and maintenance, molecular and cell biology experiments including transfection, DNA/RNA isolation, qRT-PCR, protein analysis, western blotting, and viability assays.

    They will assist with Animal tumor injection, drug treatment, monitoring animal welfare and animal husbandry using mouse models. The Research Assistant will be directly trained and supervised from PI on a daily basis.

    Once trained, they will be responsible for assisting in performing experiments under the direct supervision of the principal investigator and trained senior researchers.

    The Research Assistant will also receive mentoring and direct guidance from the senior researchers to advance his/her career in academic research.

    . They will work with other researchers in the lab to support a collaborative research environment.
    Assists in maintaining buffers, solutions and aliquots for research activity in the lab.
    Assists with basic mouse experiments such as body weight monitoring and ear tagging and recording information
    Previous lab experience is preferred.
