    Description
    Rapid7 is seeking a highly motivated and talented Sales Development Manager to join our North American Sales Development team. You will guide the teams efforts in pipeline generating activities including phone, email, social, and video prospecting. You will teach them how to build strategy into their prospecting efforts and appeal to particular personas and industries.

    In tandem, you will be responsible as the coach for their development and progression as sales professionals on their journey towards Account Executives.

    About the TeamAs the Sales Development Manager, you will develop, coach, and train a highly-motivated team of SDRs who are early in their careers and aspire to become Rapid7 Account Executives.

    Our SDRs are often the first interaction potential customers have with Rapid7, making them a critical part of beginning any partnership for the business.

    You will play an integral role between SDR, Sales, and Marketing in understanding why our customers are sitting at the table.


    In this role, you will:


    Coach and manage a team of SDRs to master skills across sales development including cold calling, setting the stage for the customer experience, understanding security personas, leading discovery calls, and positioning Rapid7 solutionsHave a maniacal focus on outcomes and impact.

    Closely monitor metrics everything from dials per day, conversion rates to opportunities, hand-off to sales and close rates with the aim to increase SDR productivity and contribution to pipeline and bookingsManage the day-to-day activities of SDR team including live coaching and mentoring, call statistics, conversions and pipeline buildWork closely with sales managers and account executives to ensure proper alignment on opportunity quality, follow-up on hand off, and Account Executive promotion eligibilityPartner and communicate effectively with various functional teams including Sales Enablement, Sales, Marketing, and Business Operations to maximize opportunities for growth and efficienciesIdentify and make recommendations for improvements around process, efficiency and productivity of the Sales Development teamThe skills youll bring include:You have demonstrated excellence in leadership within software sales for at least 2 years.

    You have experience hiring, training, and coaching aspiring Sales Professionals.
    You have experience facilitating a feedback loop between marketing, sales, and sales development.

    You have experience inspecting, analyzing, and coaching sales skills/strategiesYou understand extensive sales process around discovery and qualificationYou are comfortable with common sales technologies leveraged to generate and manage sales pipelineYou inspire others around you and build a highly motivated and successful team through your leadership skillsYou have goal-orientation and high-energy with a focus on team results and growthWe know that the best ideas and solutions come from multi-dimensional teams.
