    Description

    Summary

    In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the NWC (National Watch Center) and GIS (Geographic Information System) initiatives and 24/7 shiftwork operations in the Office of Response and Recovery, Response Directorate, Operations Division, National Watch Center. The ideal candidate for this position will have impeccable customer service skills, experience working as a team member, and serving as a geospatial analyst providing support to disaster operations.

    What will I do in this position if hired?

    In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the NWC (National Watch Center) and GIS (Geographic Information System) initiatives and operations. Typical assignments include:

  • Performing key program implementation of the FEMA GIS initiatives and operations.
  • Performing activities in support of the NWC involving the agency's programs, including providing key project assistance in the development of program standards, doctrine, training, exercises, FEMA Qualification System (FQS) requirements, and program awareness throughout the agency.
  • Serving as a key resource on highly critical and complex geospatial program initiatives, with this role requiring frequent coordination with internal and external working groups and incorporating a wide range of stakeholder concerns in formulating and recommending solutions to problems that have agency-wide implications and may also impact GIS capabilities across departments and agencies.
  • Determining and managing customer expectations for products.
