    General Notes

    Must be eligible to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.

    Purpose

    This position will primarily provide support to the First-Year Interest Group program and Transfer-Year Interest Group program. Provide assistance with facilitator training and support. Coordinate mentor recruitment for learning communities. Serve as staff advisor for first-year honor societies. Lead mentor development course.

    Responsibilities

    • Learning Communities Support (FIGs/TrIGs): Assists with coordination of academic programs, courses, and services for new students on campus. This includes primary support for the First-Year Interest Group program and secondary support for Transfer-Year Interest Groups as needed. Coordinate peer mentor recruitment.
    • First-Year Connections assistance: Assist with coordination of FYC across campus. Help organize information and resources. Help organize professional development for facilitators as needed.
    • ALDPES First-year honors society: Provides administrative oversight for first-year honors societies. Including serving as staff advisor for the groups, participating in events and ceremonies, promotion of organizations, etc.
    • Lead Learning Communities Mentor Course: Participates as part of the Teaching Team for the UGS 104(T) course. Assists with coordination and training of peer mentor programs.
    • Work as part of the FYE team, collaborating and assisting on projects as needed: Represent FYE team at various events and meetings as needed.

    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree plus 2 year of relevant experience. Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated professionalism and effective communication skills. Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.

    Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience working in a higher education setting. Experience working with first-year students. Ability to work on several projects at once while maintaining attention to detailed work. Experience working in a team environment.

    Salary Range

    $43,000+ depending on qualifications

    Working Conditions

    • Standard office conditions

    Employment Eligibility:
