    Summary

    This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Human Resources Division (HR), Board of Professional Conduct (HRB).

    This position's primary purpose is to writing technical recommendations and proposals for a technical and non-technical audience. The incumbent serves as a senior employee relations technical expert and advisor to higher-level management officials on the most complex issues involving employee conduct and discipline.

    As a your typical work assignments may include:
  • Providing high level research, analysis, and interpretation of Agency regulations governing behavior of Agency employees.
  • Serving as a writer/adviser on formal recommendations and proposals that are relevant to internal investigations regarding disciplinary and adverse actions, appeals, and standards of conduct.
  • Identifying and reviewing patterns in the types of serious misconduct that is currently or had the potential to affect DEA employees.
  • Preparing disciplinary letters which generally involve employees who have committed serious misconduct that are appealable to the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB).
  • Assisting senior specialists in devising DEA case strategy and reviewing the documentation associated with adverse action cases.
