Description

Duties:


  • Provides consultative and technical services to program managers and all levels of management on a broad range of human resources management services.
  • Federal and Trust recruitment and staffing issues and provides advice on all phases of the process.
  • Completes the entire hiring process for Federal and nonFederal appointments: confirming the selection, initiating the background investigation process, obtaining agency record checks and release dates, making the job offer, setting pay, processing the entrance on duty, and conducting new employee orientation.
  • Documents and completes tasks associated with the recruit action using an automated HR system (Monster) for job requisitions.
  • Performs special assignments including participating in public outreach activities (e.g., career fairs, diversity recruitment outreach, informational sessions on recruitment and staffing, etc.)

Qualifications:


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.


Education:

Education cannot substitute at the GS-12 or GS-13 level.


Additional information:

This position is not included in the bargaining unit.


Current or Former Political Appointees:

Beginning January 1, 2010, agencies must seek prior approval from OPM before they can appoint a current or recent political appointee to a competitive or non-political excepted service position at any level under the provisions of title 5, United States Code.

  • Meets the minimum qualification requirements, but does not satisfy most of the job related competencies above to a substantive degree.
