- Contribute to the outstanding reputation of the company by always putting the customer first, treating fellow associates with respect, and conducting business with highest integrity.
- Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new accounts, building meaningful relationships with potential customers, providing comprehensive technical and product descriptions, preparing product solution options, and closing the sale on accounts within the assigned territory.
- Report to and consistently communicate with the Director of Sales to ensure the proper management and growth of the accounts.
- Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory to generate new business for the organization's products.
- Effectively manage and direct manufacture rep agencies and align business objectives with rep agencies in the territory.
- Develop accounts by introducing and expanding product lines, highlighting product features and benefits, and by training customer's sales teams.
- Grow and maximize the assigned territory by adding new accounts, introducing new products, growing business for existing accounts, and by implementing new and resourceful selling strategies.
- Actively utilize CRM and provides management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Participate in national, industry and customer trade shows.
- Maintain up to date product knowledge, understand industry-specific trends, and competitive landscapes to proactively manage market opportunities and challenges.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Must possess 3-5 years of relevant sales experience within building materials.
- Previous experience selling through distribution and to contractors is preferred.
- Possession of at least a high school diploma is required and a post-secondary degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach).
- Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software.
