Payroll Administrator is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities associated with the Payroll Department and ensuring that weekly payroll is processed timely and accuratelyPayroll
Processes Payroll for 6 multi-state companies / Employees
Audits automated and manual timecards for payroll processing
Exports and imports timecard information from timecard software into payroll software
Calculate hours, tax withholdings, deductions, bonuses, and union fringes
Completes Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly Payroll Reporting
Be cross trained as a backup to process weekly payroll and other payroll related items
Creates and processes electronic payroll files for submission to generate direct deposits and payroll checks
Posts and monitors child support payments and wage garnishments for employees
Handles employee's inquiries regarding payroll checks or deductions on their paychecks
Coordinate with the HR department to ensure the correct employee data is on file
Process monthly union fringe reports for payment
Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
Understanding of union/non-union and prevailing wage payroll.
Previous payroll experience with multi-state particularly in CA, multi- company high volume environment with a medium to large size company
A minimum of 7+ years' Union/Prevailing Wage payroll experience in a leadership role.
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting preferred
Certified Payroll Professional Preferred
Experience with Microsoft software such as Word, and Excel
