ProspectBlue is partnered with a financial leasing company that is looking to hire an Accounting Manager to join their team in Richmond

In this role, you will ensure timely closing of the books on a monthly basis and assist in the preparation of financial statements for the both internal and external audiences.

In addition, you will be heavily involved on the preparation for the annual audit of the financial statements and assisting with the corporate tax estimates.

You will also manage the accounts payable team as well as a senior accountant. This position requires that you collaborate across all functions of our client.

The successful individual will be resourceful and autonomous when taking on new tasks and projects, and must be able to handle and manage a variety of tasks simultaneously.

This position is pivotal to the success of a well-run, efficient, and productive team.

Employment qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA certificate preferred
5+ years of experience in accounting and finance
Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel). Knowledge of Salesforce preferred.
Experience in working with integrated accounting systems; NetSuite experience preferred
Experience participating in the implementation of an accounting system
Displays the highest integrity and always does the right thing
Accountable, takes responsibility for work product and actions
Ability to participate in cross-functional teams and interact with all levels of the organization
Detail oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize
Ability to work well independently

Essential job functions:
Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department
Manage the monthly close process
Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and producing financial reports or statements
Oversee monthly reconciliation processes and assist with cash management
Assist in successful completion of the year end financial statement audit
Ensure timely completion of all month end closing activities
Assist in the delivery of strategic objectives through follow-up and coordination of deliverables
Assist in the implementation of processes from Great Plains and Sage into NetSuite
Oversee the accounting related to ASC 842
Identify and implement opportunities for more efficient operation within the department
Build and maintain good business relationships across the organization
Demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands
Managing the company's financial accounts, cash receipts and financial assets and serve as a back up for payroll
Other duties as assigned
