    Arizona State Universitys Enterprise Technology group is seeking a motivated technology and innovation-focused Grant and Program Specialist to drive grant funding proposals in exciting fields such as artificial intelligence, technology-enabled scale and technology partnerships with workforce and tech companies. Enterprise Technology is the center of technology at ASU, which means that the Grant and Program Specialist will have the opportunity to engage with, learn more about and help shape the future of emerging technology within the organization through their work with specialized innovation teams. The Grant and Program Specialist will prepare grants applications, narratives, and stakeholder presentation materials that align with requirements and guidelines. Additionally, this individual would work across a portfolio of special projects (domestic and international) to support project launch, administration, facilitation, and development of key deliverables. Successful candidates will have grant writing and design experience and a strong desire to learn and grow with this emerging portfolio of funding.

    Essential Duties

    Supports funding activities and development of innovative project proposals:

  • Responsible for developing and delivering written content for grant proposals; guides the overall development of proposals.
  • Writes, curates and edits proposal content to ensure compliance with documented funder requirements and guidelines. Ability to repurpose and realign existing content from existing resources to meet new opportunity requirements.
  • Regularly researches funding opportunities from a variety of agencies or other private foundations and organizations.
  • Researches, reviews and interprets requests for proposals and funding guidelines from funding organizations to determine appropriateness and optimal response format; disseminates information on funding opportunities to staff, researchers and faculty partners to ensure understanding of competitive requirements, application process and compliance with award requirements.
  • Works closely with leadership to identify and prioritize resource development opportunities; Develops outlines, timelines, and boilerplate templates for grant proposals according to funding guidelines. Supports with coordination of teams responsible for writing and developing grant proposals to ensure timelines and standards are met.
  • Tracks grant applications, awards and related communications; prepares a variety of periodic status reports.
  • Assists in the preparation of proposal graphics, presentations and vital information needed to support grant narratives for funding and/or funding continuation.
  • Assists with emerging initiatives/project set-up and ongoing success by participating in a team that:

  • Coordinates logistics, scheduling and participant communications to support a variety of special projects.
  • Establishes and monitors project expectations; works to ensure optimal team effectiveness and timely delivery of project outcomes.
  • Works to support project success by completing necessary tasks and developing key deliverables.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding project status; builds, develops, and maintains relationships vital to project success. Interacts and maintains liaison with students, faculty, staff and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives.
  • Assists in the development and facilitation of design thinking sessions for project teams and stakeholders; incorporates session deliverables into project planning documents and communicates applicable action items with project teams.
  • Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Business, Journalism, Communications or closely related field appropriate to area of assignment AND five years of experience in technical or grant writing, editing or publishing; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Ability to utilize effective communication, problem solving and listening skills to positively influence a variety of audiences and efficiently identify issues, concerns and interests and provide effective solutions.

  • Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (10%)
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds (15%)
  • Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities and adapt to swiftly changing requirement, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
