    Job Description and Duties
    The Information Technology Manager I reports to the IT Manager II and acts as the Change and Release Management Section Chief, responsible for coordinating software changes in the FI$Cal system. Key duties include evaluating change requests, creating release schedules, and managing project teams. This role involves maintaining processes, providing training, and overseeing configuration management. Additionally, the Section Chief leads personnel management, including workload planning, staff development, and training delivery. While the primary focus is on Information Technology Project Management, responsibilities may extend to other areas as necessary.

    Working Conditions
    At FI$Cal, we offer a remote-centered position with the flexibility of telework for three or more days per week. In-office presence is required on specified days. Our office is situated at 2000 Evergreen Street, Sacramento, CA. Candidates living outside of California are welcome to interview, but proof of California residency is needed before appointment. Please be aware that relocation and commute expenses are the responsibility of the employee.
    This role demands the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and may entail working additional hours. Travel may be necessary, and adherence to the core values of the Department of FISCal is expected. The incumbent will provide backup as needed to ensure continuity of departmental activities.
    Prolonged sitting in an office environment is required, along with regular use of a telephone, computer, and other office equipment. A hand-cart may be needed to transport items over 20 pounds. Upholding a discrimination-free work environment and demonstrating good work habits and attendance are crucial.
    Candidates from outside California may interview, but proof of residency in the state is mandatory prior to appointment.
