    Under the administrative direction of the Deputy Director of Infrastructure Services, the Information Technology Manager II (IT Mgr II) has full management responsibility of approximately (65) technical staff and (5) managerial staff members. The IT Mgr II will work as the Branch Chief for the Network Engineering Branch.

    The Network Engineering Branch is responsible for the performance, security, and reliability of the statewide Office of Technology Services (OTech) Telecommunications network including the infrastructure design; installation and support of networking hardware components; network operating systems and software. This encompasses the Wide-Area Network, Metropolitan Area Network, Local Area Network, Internet Access, IP and converged data, voice, video, Fiber Optics network. Providing exemplary customer service and 24x7x365 to meet critical customer needs while providing best value to the State

    Working Conditions

  • Must pass a fingerprint background criminal record check completed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
  • Must be available to work overtime as necessary and when business needs warrant.
  • Must carry a mobile device/smartphone.
  • Must maintain consistent, predictable attendance.
  • Must be available to travel to the Department of Technology's headquarter and various customer locations for meetings.

    STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS (SOQ)

    Instructions:

    The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is a narrative discussion of how your education, experience, skills, and training meet the minimum and desirable qualifications to qualify you for the position. It serves as documentation of your ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. Your SOQ must be typed, Arial 12 pt. font, no less than one-inch margins, and no more than two pages in length. Your SOQ should include the title "Statement of Qualifications" and your name in header and must address each of the items listed below.

    The SOQ should address the following:

    1.Discussyour background and proficiency in providing coaching and mentorship toemployees? Highlight how you have cultivated a conducive work environment thatfosters continuous learning, promotes personal growth, and acknowledgesindividual accomplishments, ultimately driving team members to achieve optimalperformance levels.

    2. Describeyour knowledge of and experience with business process improvement. Include anexample of how you identified a process that required improvement, determinedwhat changes were required, and steps you took to implement the improvement.Describe the outcome.

    3.Describeyour project management experience, specifically focusing on your involvementin the planning and execution of significant infrastructure and/or platformprojects. This should include your contributions to strategy development,implementation processes, governance structures, and change management efforts,all while managing the needs and expectations of internal and externalstakeholders.
