Job Description and Duties
Under general direction of the Department of Finance Enterprise Architect (Information Technology Manager II), the Information Technology Manager I (Network Security) will manage the Department of Finance's Enterprise network and security infrastructure and projects. The incumbent to this position will manage and oversee a team of Information Technology Specialists (e.g., Information Technology Specialist II, Information Technology Specialist I, and Associate Information Technology Specialist) on various cloud and on-premise security technologies for the Department of Finance's Microsoft O365 Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Microsoft Azure Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Microsoft Azure Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), environments and Finance's on-premise network infrastructure.The Information Technology Manager I incumbent will have strong knowledge and understanding of widely practiced network and network security processes and procedures, cloud computing technology (e.g., PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS), must demonstrate excellent project management skills, have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, have the ability to discern and execute California Department of Technology and Department of General Services key policies (e.g., The Statewide Information Management Manual (SIMM) and The State Administrative Manual (SAM), advise, communicate effectively to executive management and co-management team, and mentor, and motivate staff, and have a cooperative working relationship with management, team members, and business customers. The incumbent must possess strong organizational, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills; works independently and in a team environment; participates in meetings, provides status reports, and completes work assignments. Special Requirements
Finance operates under a hybrid telework model, which requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of two days during the workweek. The hybrid policy is subject to change, and additional in-office days may be required at management's discretion or based on operational needs. For positions eligible for full-time telework, employees may be required to report to the office under certain circumstances. Employees will be expected to report to the office within a reasonable amount of time.Current state employees must indicate on their application their current civil service classification, NOT working titles.
