    Job Description

    Leads all technical support and enhancements to clinical systems used at all H+H facilities, while supporting the execution of H+H's strategic priorities and business goals. The selected individual will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support for a set of applications for multiple clinical areas. The applications supported include Blood Bank, Point of Care, and Lab Instrumentation and others as assigned by management. The individual will be the primary technical contact for the aforementioned systems. This position reports to the Director of Laboratory Information Systems.

    Duties & Responsibilities
    • Provide comprehensive technical support for H+H clinical applications assigned including taking ownership of all technical issues affecting the applications.
    • Become the technical expert in multiple clinical applications. Perform troubleshooting, problem analysis/resolution and system tuning.
    • Design the optimal configuration for each application including servers, database access, client/server access and interfaces to other H+H applications. Provide specifications for proper system configuration.
    • Configure vendor software for proper use at H+H including desktops, web servers and terminal server access (Citrix, VMWare)
    • Maintain documentation for application servers and associated devices.
    • Modify the application configuration as needed to support changes to infrastructure software and hardware.
    • Configure the systems for disaster recovery and failover between H+H data centers. Act as the lead technical resource for design and implementation and testing of failover.
    • Design configuration consisting of multiple server systems applications with database access, client/server access and interfaces to other H+H applications.
    • Configure vendor software for proper use at H+H adhering to security and compliance specifications.
    • Lead a team of analysts to provide maintenance and support for multiple clinical systems including implementing a strategy that is aligned with business and IT goals.
    • Lead the analysis and documentation of business requirements and processes; communicate requirements to technical personnel through the construction of basic conceptual data, process models and flowcharts, and technical specifications.
    • Provide guidance to other team members on the gathering of requirements and developing of required clinical documentation.
    • Determines the requirements of end users, stakeholders, and project sponsors in order to assess business and clinical needs; Ensures that creation of business, functional and technical requirements documents based on captured data and in accordance with departmental protocol/standards.
    • Defines external interfaces, constraints, quality issues and other non-functional requirements.
    • Ensure that all quality standards comply with internal policies and industry standards.
    • Ensure changes are managed and documented. Document software test plans, technical requirements, release notes, user and training guidelines and other materials.
    • Plan, coordinate, and support unit acceptance testing and subsequent deployments in coordination with other team leaders.
    • Perform end user and application support functions including problem solving and resolution of application function defects that are of a technical nature.
    • Provide training to and serve as a mentor for junior team members; manage and evaluate work products for assigned team members.
    • Ensures that adequate backups are taken and tested on a regular basis.
    • Interview appropriate project team members.
    Minimum Qualifications
    1. A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Healthcare, Hospital, Public or Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior or a related discipline and three (3) years of full-time experience planning, developing and monitoring programs, systems and/or procedures in support of administrative management initiatives, one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible managerial or supervisory capacity; or
    2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in "1" above and four (4) years of full-time experience, as outlined in "1" above, two (2) years of which must have been in a responsible managerial or supervisory capacity; or
    3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

    Years of Experience:
    • Minimum of five (5) years progressive experience in IT Healthcare Technical settings
