Under the direct supervision of the DON, the Assistant Director provides administrative and managerial support for the daily operations and strategic planning/implementation of the Nursing Recruitment, Nursing Administration, and Central Patient Transport Departments.

The assistant Director works closely with the DON to develop, implement and evaluate workflows and enhance the Nursing Department's operational efficiency.

Provides support of the overall strategic direction of the organization; specifically, in areas of talent acquisition, change management, and orientation and training.


Responsibilities:


  • Direct supervision over on Assistant Coordinating Manager.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements and provides analysis and proposed strategies.
  • Collaborates with Nursing leaders to assess clinical and administrative needs for all vacancies.
  • Manages and maintains the Nursing position control database up to date at all times.
  • Creates/Submits PRFs/ARFs for separated employees (resignations, retirements, transfers, terminations, deaths) and monitors their status throughout the approval process.
  • Creates, updates, and disseminates internal postings for approved vacancies.
  • Screens resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience, and knowledge in relation to position requirements.
  • Reviews, prepares, and submits interview documents to HR and Finance for processing.
  • Performs other duties delegated by DON.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in hospital administration,
health care administration, public health or a related discipline; or

  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as described in "1" above,
and one (1) year of administrative experience; or

  • An equivalent combination of training, college education and experience in related fields.
