Gillian Harrill

Magna cum laude Cornell graduate with experience as an associate film producer. Using a childlike sense of wonder to produce 15 documentaries and short films selected for more than 20 film festivals including the 2023 Oscar-qualifying American Documentary and Animation Film Festival. A vibrant storyteller who also has administrative skills and attacks any project, big or small, with gumption and joy.

• Transcribing and organizing interviews for the PBS series Confluence.
• Working on Beyond the Straight and Narrow, an LGBTQ+ documentary series distributed by the Media Education Foundation in which I spearheaded the rights clearances, editing, finding of archival footage from TV and libraries, festival submissions, and distribution. I represented the director on calls and in meetings with various stakeholders.
• Assisting in grant writing and fundraising to win one of 12 spots at the Biennale College Cinema, Venice Film Festival’s emerging filmmakers’ training and production initiative for the film The Cave Without a Name.
• Associate producing alongside Sundance director Jeffrey Palmer, which gave me insight in producing a film from all the stages: from development to production to post-production.
