Gillian Berloffe

As a young professional with a background in digital media production and integrated marketing communication, I believe that creativity, collaboration and strategy are integral to a successful media campaign. I aim to incorporate these qualities into my work. 

I combine my keen eye for detail and ability to focus on the bigger picture to deliver innovative and impactful results for each project I undertake. My studies have also given me a great understanding of conceptualizing campaigns and bringing messages to life through design. 

Looking ahead, I am eager to continue honing my skills and expanding my knowledge in the field of communication.

Allegheny County Executives Office, Pittsburgh, PA

Allegheny County Executive’s Office Communications Intern | May 2025 – August 2025

• Assisted in developing 20+ social media posts for the Allegheny County Executive’s social media accounts across multiple platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Bluesky).
• Drafted, filmed, and edited 3 short-form social media videos for Instagram Reels.
• Conducted internal and external research to assist in idea generation for the Allegheny County social media accounts and websites.
• Drafted and completed 25 proclamations for the County Executive. Proclamations are requested by residents of Allegheny County and are designed to commemorate an event, person, or organization.

The Rocket, Slippery Rock, PA

Copy/Web Editor | August 2024 – May 2025

• Was the official copy/web editor for Slippery Rock University’s independent student run newspaper, The Rocket.
• Proofread and edited five or more articles per week for grammar, punctuation, style and clarity according to AP style in order to polish The Rocket’s published articles to enhance reader engagement and trust.
• Managed The Rocket’s Facebook, X and Instagram profiles and created 10 or more social media posts per week which increased follower engagement and article viewership.
• Wrote and published a monthly opinion article for each print edition of The Rocket following AP style which averaged 450 reads and sparked meaningful discussion among viewers.

Bailey Library, Slippery Rock, PA

Student Public Relations and Outreach Coordinator | October 2022 – May 2025

• Created more than 15 engaging monthly posters to display in the library to showcase Bailey Library’s current initiatives which increased awareness and participation in the library’s programs and events among Slippery Rock University students.
• Developed and executed communication strategies to promote the Bailey Library’s services, resources and events which enhanced student engagement.
• Managed the Bailey Library Instagram account and created at least one weekly post that boosted social media presence and strengthened the library’s connection with Slippery Rock University students.
