Description
A well-financed NYC-based foundation seeks a Chief Operating Officer able to start immediately. We are a mission-driven foundation engaged in philanthropy in the USA and Israel, with emphasis on Jewish education, arts and culture, safety net, science, and healthcare.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. An advanced CPA degree with experience in managing investment portfolios for a college or other not-for-profit or foundation. At least 15 years' experience.
2. A law degree is preferred, but not required.
3. Ability to oversee mission and policy compliance, staff members and HR issues.
4. Familiarity with grants processes and review procedures.
5. Familiarity and knowledge of the Jewish community in the USA and Israel.
JOB DESRIPTION:
1. Work directly with the CEO to prepare board resolutions, interface with the board's executive committee and review contracts.
2. Work closely with the CEO to oversee the foundation financial portfolio & governance policies.
3. Oversee the entire staff of the foundation, financial, managerial & HR issues.
4. Oversee the office and building arrangements of the foundation.
5. Review grants and programs with responsible staff members.
6. Review and evaluate staff reports and progress.
