  • Serving as a project lead – Risk and Audit for Core Banking in the Wealth Management Division.
  • Lead a team of 21 engineers and 8 financial analysts to help the bank clear a multi-level audit campaign carried by the OCC (Office of the Comptroller & Currency, USA).
  • Successful in clearing the MRA audit. Instrumental in saving the bank a total of $300 Million in auditory fines. 
  • Liaise and with the audit consulting team at KPMG to help the bank circumvent further findings and fines. 
  • Facilitate dependency management, risk management & impediment removal for defined deliverables and planning/coordination of delivery across multiple teams spread out across various time zones.
  • Ensure execution & negotiate delivery terms for auditors in terms of functionality, quality, timelines & costs.

  • Oversaw navigation and cargo ops whilst on port onboard geared bulk carriers and container vessels.
  • Planned several global trans-ocean passages. Leveraged research skills and detail orientation to plan international voyages by reviewing nautical publications, local and international Flag State & Port State regulations and guidelines. 
  • Liaised with various shoreside bodies such as US Coast Guard, Australian AMSA, Transport Canada and other national MOU’s. 
  • Carried out critical calculations to strategize loading/discharging quantity and placement of cargo.
  • Traded in piracy-infested waters (Gulf of Aden and Nigerian waters). Led men to fend off pirates on two occasions (Nov-2016 & May-2018). 
  • Managed and handled shipboard accounts including shipboard stores, provision and bonded stores. 
  • Performed extensive risk management resulting in no damage to life, property or environment during time as a deck officer. Led teams of 5-7 men for critical (life-threatening) shipboard operations including emergencies such as fires and man overboard.
