- Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization
- Qualify potential new clients and assist in conversion into new business
- Maintains positive business relationships with clients
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, in support of business development
- Manages the commercial process with clients and organizes the internal process of quotes and service delivery with team, including the necessary authorization process for approval of a contract
- Manages the contract during the complete execution of the project up to the receipt of the last payment of the client
- Connects, engages, and contributes positively within the Actemium
- Supports the Business Unit General Manager in developing the business unit strategy
- Supports the Business Unit General Manager in evaluating the performance and growth of individual employees
- Supports the dissemination of group-guidelines, values, and key-principles of the team
- Work closely with the Business Unit Manager and team to take ownership of a regions success in the marketplace, with a driving passion to grow revenue in a profitable way
- Business oriented: Strong engagement and entrepreneurial spirit towards clients while maintaining the company operating standards
- Creative Problem Solving: Recognize and evaluate problems, identifying potential solutions, organizing, and engaging team

- Financial: Understanding of accounting principles
- Contracts: Strong understanding of the client company terms & conditions
- Leadership: Leading, delegating and giving direction to the project team members
- High Ethical Standards: Having a strong sense of business ethics
- At least 10 years + experience in sales and business development
- Knowledge about industrial automation and related companies is a must
- Knowledge from and connections with the industrial companies (food, chemicals, manufacturing) in the Southeast
- Bachelors degree or equivalent, or 10 years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- An engineering and project management background is a prerequisite

SUMMARY & OBJECTIVE:
The Business Development Manager serves as a crucial link between the client and the Business Unit. The role entails various key responsibilities including identifying new business prospects, managing, conducting personal sales activities, and fostering new business connections. The Business Development Manager, guides the sales process, remaining engaged with the client until the project concludes.
The duties will extend over 5 areas: commercial, technical, financial, management and quality; all in accordance with company policy and guidelines. A Business Development Manager typically oversees a portfolio based on market segmentation of the business unit (i.e., Food, Pharma, Chemicals, Water, Automotive) or set of targeted clients.
The Business Development Manager develops the business unit sales strategy, to provide engineering services from the initiation of a project up to ongoing after sales services and maintenance services.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary; may be required to lift up to 10 pounds.
