    Tuesday- Wednesday 1:30PM – 10:00PM

    Thursday-Saturday 8:00AM – 4:30PM


    Summary:


    Under the general guidance of the Director for Quality and Compliance, this position reports directly to the Associate Director of Family Reunification.

    Bilingual ability in English and a second language is required.

    The position provides a variety of direct services in the area of family reunification, external stakeholder's liaison and case management services provided by staff.

    This position also has supervisory/management responsibilities as an essential component of the role.

    As such, the position is responsible for ensuring quality of care and compliance with funder and licensing requirements in all program operations.

    Staff training will be required in related areas. Individual accountabilities and work volume will be established through the development of success objectives within the framework outlined below.
    The Family Reunification Supervisor leverages industry knowledge and best practices to promote the mission and vision of Heartland Alliance. Supports culture development and management efforts.

    Essential Functions
    Duties & Responsibilities
    Family Reunification Services

    Collects and assesses family background information through interviewing children, families and care providers and review documents from police, Child Protective Services and other agencies.

    Collaborates with the Office of Refugee Resettlement and affiliate organizations and stakeholders engaged in service provision for unaccompanied children.

    Participates in staff meetings, staffing and working groups as required to support the goals and the overall development and implementation of the agency's strategic plan.

    Provides advanced advocacy, assessment, and case management services to individuals, families and groups and establishes appropriate service/treatment plans, reviews case progress and determines case closure according to program guidelines and standards.

    Program Needs
    Assists Program Director/Associate Director in ensuring that all licensing and agency standards are being met in the area of Family Reunification/ORR/HHCS services
    Responds to on-call crisis situations 24 hours a day/7 days a week and may carry an agency-issued communication device (email/cell phone)
    Participates in the development of long-term plans, service delivery model and other significant strategies and/or systems.
    Supervises program participants individually or in groups.

    Helps program participant to modify attitudes and patterns of behavior by increasing understanding of self, personal problems, and program participant's part in creating them.

    Assists in household maintenance or participant transportation, as necessary.
    Compliance And Documentation
    Ensure staff completion of quality documentation related to the reunification services and/or other services related to case management services
    Performs various coordinating and training duties.

    These include, but are not limited to such things as preparing and monitoring staffing assignments, training employees how to perform certain job duties and suggesting how employees can improve their job performance.

    Adheres to professional standards as outlined by Heartland Alliance, the division of Youth and Residential Services, governmental bodies, DCFS and other appropriate professional associations, and private funding sources

    Models a multidisciplinary team approach to participant care.

    Remains current in the field of service provided by the program through self-initiated avenues, as approved by a higher level management.

    Quality Assurance

    This role works to develop and manage systems that ensure family reunification staff perform in full compliance with funder requirements, as well as within best-practices (aspirational) high quality of services.


    These may include, but are not limited to:
    Accurately completes in a timely manner all necessary forms, case recordings and statistical reports
    Participates in program planning
    Assesses, plans, and supplements the client's level of functioning
    Presents clinical case reviews
    Attends a minimum of 40 educational training hours per fiscal year
    Initiates requests for assistance from Supervisor to address new issues or complex concepts affecting adherence to professional standards

    Education And Experience
    Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, social work or related field required.
    A minimum three (3) years of work-related experience (case management, youth, social work, etc.) with demonstrated supervisory experience.
    Bilingual ability in English and a 2nd language is required.
    Certifications/Licenses
    A valid driver's license with no moving violations or suspensions is required.
    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (K/S/A)
    Ability to speak and fluency in a second language including but not limited to the following multi-language abilities:
    Ability to read and interpret documents such operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
    Access to regular, dependable and timely transportation.
    Ability and comfortability working with people of varying socioeconomic backgrounds.
    Excellent communication skills. Strong networker, convener, relationship builder and communicator with experience collaborating with diverse work teams and stakeholders.
    Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information possessing skills to handle situations in a professional and diplomatic manner.
    A high degree of collaboration and emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and analytical ability.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange; Windows operating systems; and other software routinely used by Heartland Alliance.

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

    Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated with minimal direct supervision.
    Strategic thought partnership and consultancy skills.
    Work Arrangement
    This role is not eligible for remote work.

    Each program site operates on a 24/7 basis, 365 days per year.

    To meet both the needs of our participants and contractual obligations, employees are required to be flexible in regards to scheduling and work location.

    Program sites are located throughout the Chicago area, including the North and South sides of Chicago, as well as the suburbs.

    Employees may be required to report to any one of our locations on a temporary or permanent basis.
