    Description
    Star Tribune is seeking a talented leader to manage the sales efforts of one of our Advertising teams.

    In this key role, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and leading revenue opportunities to increase advertising sales using Star Tribunes broad range of products, ensuring the team consistently meets and exceeds sales and service objectives.

    In addition, the Sales Manager is responsible for building relationships with key advertising accounts and prospects. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on coaching in the field and direct customer contact.

    The team works with a variety of customer categories including:
    local entertainment, services, furniture, and large retail.


    Qualifications:

    • Requires a minimum of 3-4 years of sales or management experience.
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience in business, sales, communications, or a related field.
    • Demonstrated skills in supervising, directing and motivating a sales force while managing revenue performance across key strategic products in a deadline driven work environment.
    • Strong sales, planning and business management skills.
    • Negotiation and problem-solving skills a must.
    • Advertising
    and digital sales experience preferred.

    • Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 or granted an accommodation based on disability or sincerely held religious belief

    Work Environment

    • Job may be performed remotely during COVID-19 pandemic in Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Iowa, or in a hybrid manner from our downtown Minneapolis office
    • Voluntary phased return to the downtown office (for those who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19) continues through February 28, 2022
    • Because you will be handling confidential client information, we ask that while remote, you work from home or a private location. This work cannot be performed in a public location.
