    Description
    The Paws for Purple Hearts (PPH) Site Manager plays a key role in our organization.

    In support of our mission and in alignment with our values, the Site Manager conducts effective fundraising and general managerial activities to sustain and grow our footprint in their geographic area of responsibility.

    The Site Manager manages local marketing/communications staff and program instructors (dog trainers). The Site Manager reports directly to, and is accountable to, the Chief Executive Officer - CEO.

    The Site Manager coordinates activities with other staff as appropriate for the ongoing planning and implementation of site activities, based on the guidance and direction of the PPH National staff.


    Qualifications:
    The Paws for Purple Hearts' (PPH's) Site Manager is required to have met the following specific educational requirements:
    A Bachelor's Degree in the Management, Business, or Marketing;

    Preferred:
    an MBA or degree in nonprofit management.

    Prior experience needed for this position includes:
    One year of experience in non-profit management;
    A minimum of two years of experience in fundraising/development for small/growing non-profit organizations;
    Work in or extensive knowledge of military culture;
    Background in general supervision and management;
    Background in grant writing

    Basic qualifications include the following areas:
    Knowledge of and an exceptional ability to network with donors and stakeholders to sustain and expand the local program efforts;
    Ability to create and deliver dynamic presentations about our programs to the general public, administrators, donors and other interested parties;
    Knowledge of and ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies and methodologies;
    Ability to develop a network of influential stakeholders;
    Accurate reporting and record keeping;
    Excellent writing skills;
    Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills;
    Knowledge of grant writing, processes and opportunity identification;
    Compatibility with PPH's culture, mission and values.

    Overall Responsibilities:
    Develop and expand local fundraising to achieve site financial self-sufficiency at a minimum, with the greater objective to garner surplus funding to fuel regional self-sufficiency and growth;
    Create and manage local marketing efforts that will identify and infiltrate key markets, in order to build community awareness, engagement and contacts that supportive of Paws for Purple Hearts and its good works;
    Foster strong public relations that serve as focal points for print, broadcast and social media relationships and interactions;
    Maintain and manage the Paws for Purple Hearts local operations, building a strong, well-coordinated team capable of providing quality programmatic service to the designated military Warriors we serve;
    Expand our presence in the local area as pre-approved by the reporting senior;
    Conduct program planning in conjunction with appropriate PPH staff and partner organization contacts, volunteers, stakeholders, and major donors;
    Attend meetings and report internally to the reporting senior and PPH management and leadership, and externally to designated partner organization (e.g., VA, DOD) contacts and major donors;
    Continuously improve management and fundraising skills;
    Commit to PPH's culture, mission, values, goals, objectives and plans;
    Perform all other duties as assigned by the reporting senior.

    • Duties
    Develop and expand local fundraising to help achieve regional financial self-sufficiency at a minimum, with the greater objective to garner surplus funding to fuel growth:
    a.)
    Develop, cultivate and solicit financial and in-kind support:

    Bequest development
    Major Donors (e.g., Individuals, Trusts, Foundations, Donor Advised Funds).
    Corporations and corporate (e.g., industry, community of practice) associations.
    General community associations.
    Clubs and group support
    Other sources as identified.
    Direct mail programs
    Grant writing and submissions
    Donor thank you's
    b.) Identify, cultivate and obtain large and sustained donations from major donors (e.g., individuals, trusts, foundations, donor advised funds);
    c.) Cultivate and manage financially fruitful relationships with corporations and with corporate (e.g., industry, community of practice) and general community associations;
    d.) Develop and expand the economic sustainability of local programs, and innovate fundraising efforts that meet and exceed the local area's fiscal needs;
    e.) Conduct activities in support of fundraising;
    f.) Manage the site's Marketing and Communication Specialists effectively to ensure you can focus on high-yield fundraising;
    g.) Conduct income performance tracking and reporting to demonstrate performance and identify areas for continuous improvement.
    Create and manage local marketing efforts that will identify and infiltrate key markets, in order to build community awareness, engagement and contacts that supportive of Paws for Purple Hearts and its good works:
    Newsletters
    Social media
    Conferences
    Associations, clubs and groups
    Related venues
    A network of influential stakeholders to compliment and support the PPH regional Canine-Assisted Warrior Therapy (CAWT) programs;
    Serve as focal point for local VIP relationships and interaction.
    Foster strong public relations that serve as focal points for print, broadcast and social media relationships and interactions:
    Print media
    Broadcast media
    Presentations
    Events
    Develop and maintain social & traditional media contacts;
    Engage in public relations activities;
    Maintain and manage the Paws for Purple Hearts local operations, building a strong, well-coordinated team capable of providing quality programmatic service to the designated military Warriors we serve:
    a.)

    Local infrastructure maintenance, repair, upgrades and renovation:
    Building
    IT systems
    b.)

    Local personnel:
    (Everyone or just MCS/ everyone not on dog side?)
    HR
    Performance reporting and reviews
    Absence requests
    Staffing level and capacity planning

    c.) Administrative activities:
    Manage local budget
    Bank deposits
    Reception
    d.)

    Respond to or have handled:
    Emails
    Phone calls
    Incoming and outgoing mail
    Visitors
    e.) Other local office tasks as needed
    f.) Manage regulatory aspects of the local area
    Local business licenses and permits
    Local taxation policy matters
    Environmental matters
    g.) Manage the relationship with landlords
    Rent/lease payments
    Maintenance and repair liaison
    Leasing agreement compliance
    h.) Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers and service providers.
    Contracts
    Bills
    Service quality assurance
    i.)
    Provide oversight to community engagement and volunteer programs:

    Puppy Petting
    Dog exercising
    Kennel help
    Administrative help
    Conduct regular all-staff and specific staff meetings
    Grounds
    Vehicles
    Other relevant systems as identified
    Maintain meeting minutes
    Conduct performance tracking and reporting to demonstrate performance and identify areas for continuous improvement;
    Manage local marketing team,
    j.)
    Provide oversight of the site's dog training and outings program and its on-site and off-site Canine-Assisted Warrior Therapy (CAWT) sessions as directed by the senior instructor, the Dog Program Manager and National Client Manager:

    CAWT sessions
    Social therapy visits
    Other therapeutic visits with Veterans
    Instructor's daily dog training
    Dog field trip training
    Client (dog recipient) Training courses and graduations
    Provide periodic and ad hoc reports to reporting senior or other staff as appropriate regarding the above activities;
    h.)
    Expand our presence in the local area as pre-approved by the reporting senior:

    Explore with reporting senior potential expansion into new areas that request PPH programs:
    Identify possible fiscal supporters of expansion
    Identify potential locations for expansion
    Suggest new ideas and ways PPH can serve the local area;

    Discuss program needs and expansion ideas with staff:

    • Obtain reporting senior endorsement
    • Work with local partner organization (e.
    g., VA, DOD) leadership, specialists, champion and
    advocates to expand therapy programs and improve existing programs;
    i.)
    Conduct program planning in conjunction with appropriate PPH staff and partner organization contacts, volunteers, stakeholders, and major donors:

    Assess ability of local team to provide sustainable canine therapeutic and assistive services in response to local community needs;
    Maximize quantity of therapy program partnerships with partner organization (e.g.

    , VA, DOD) mental health professionals while maintaining quality:

    • As approved by the reporting senior;
    Contract with local, state and federal agencies to implement the PPH program as approved by the reporting senior in coordination with appropriate PPH staff:
    To provide full or partial program services;
    Educate contacts regarding the benefits of the PPH programs;
    Collect and report statistical data from the local area;
    Attend meetings and report internally to the reporting senior and PPH management and leadership, and externally to designated partner organization (e.g., VA, DOD) contacts and major donors;
    Continuously improve management and fundraising skills;
    Commit to PPH's culture, mission, values, goals, objectives and plans;
    Perform all other duties as assigned by the reporting senior
