    Mediavine is seeking a Business Development Representative II to join our Business Development Team, as a part of our larger Customer Success Department.


    We are looking for a top-performing, proven professional to help attract top websites in the publishing world to be represented by Mediavine's advertising business.

    Position Title & Overview:


    The Business Development Representative II will be responsible for growing Mediavine's list of publishers across previously untapped or emerging verticals.

    You will work as a part of the Customer Success Team's framework to identify new opportunities, build relationships and then bring in new business that meets company goals and priorities.

    Growing our business requires an emphasis on quality as well as quantity.

    The Business Development Representative will work as a part of the Customer Success department to ensure that prospective Mediavine publishers are as extensively vetted for brand safety, traffic, and advertising performance potential as the rest of our clients.

    In this role, you will contribute to helping Mediavine expand its base of publishers, encourage adoption of our identity solutions, and position the company as an indispensable partner within a dynamic ecosystem.


    Essential Responsibilities:
    Grow traffic and revenue in new markets such as travel, home & garden, family & parenting, gaming, automotive, technology, sports and entertainment for Mediavine and all of its programs and offerings

    Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Mediavine's products and services

    Actively reach out to web properties that align with Mediavine's mission statement of building sustainable businesses for content creators

    Establish, build, and maintain relationships with clients, and serve as a sounding board / point of contact for the clients you've helped to onboard

    Participate in strategic calling and messaging to identify new business opportunities

    Effectively manage inbound lead flow as well as executing outbound prospecting initiatives

    Analyze prospective leads for success potential

    Lead introductory/ discovery calls with publishers

    Maintain active engagement with new and existing leads through creative follow-up generating increased interest and excitement

    Support in the closing of small to mid tier deals in an effort to meet and exceed goals

    Collaborate and contribute to the success of the business development and greater customer success team

    Stays current on competitors and industry trends while proactively sharing knowledge with the team

    Required travel on an as needed basis, for business opportunities, our annual All Hands Retreat, Team Retreats/Meetings and/or industry events/conferences (approx. 30%)

    Requirements


    Location:
    Applicants must be based in the United States


    You Have:
    3+ years of progressive experience in Business Development in the digital publishing and/or technology space

    Prior or current experience working remotely with a distributed team of stakeholders and customers

    Strong proficiency with Google Suite

    Experience with communication platforms like Slack

    Experience working with a CRM such as Hubspot, Salesforce, etc.

    An understanding of the online marketing and advertising industries

    An understanding of sales and account management best practices; both inbound and outbound, with the ability to adjust and utilize different methods of communication to achieve goals

    Ability to understand a customer's needs, and navigate a conversation to present the most useful information with each interaction

    Demonstrated ability to successfully present a value proposition

    Ability to meet sales targets in coordination with executive and other key stakeholders within the organization

    Strong relationship management skills, with both internal and external contacts

    Strong written & verbal communication skills

    Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities

    Ability to travel up to 30%
