    Role description:

    Arcadis seeks a Change Manager to join the team in Los Angeles to perform a wide variety of professional engineering work in either a field or office setting.

    The Change Manager will assist LACMTA Contract Administration with processing changes to the construction contract; coordinating technical documents, Requests for Change (RFC), and Cost and Schedule Proposal (CSP) analysis with the Resident Engineer, Project Controls Manager, and Change Committee; obtaining 3rd party review concurrence when necessary; and providing technical support on preparation of contract changes.

    Role Accountabilities:
    • Ensure that changes are processed in accordance with LACMTA Change Control procedures and applicable contact documents.
    • Provide assistance to the project staff in the review, cost analysis, negotiations, and resolution of contract change issues.
    • Attend Fact Finding meetings with the project staff and contractors and assist with scope/CSP analysis.
    • Coordinate with 3rd Party Agencies, such as Caltrans, to obtain review concurrence when applicable.
    • Attend job meetings as required and visit job sites and field offices to obtain firsthand knowledge of the change scope.
    • Coordinate and provide training to project staff on LACMTA Change Control procedures to promote project team compliance with LACMTA Change Control procedures and applicable contact requirements.
    • Prepare and maintain comprehensive records of change chronology, negotiations, and explanation of why additional work is necessary.
    • Review specifications and drawings and confirm that the requested work is not in the bid design.
    • Support development of a comprehensive description of the scope of work to be performed.
    • Coordinate with project designer(s) to obtain technical contract change documents.
    • Proactively resolve problem issues and expedite the change process.
    • Coordinate interface with Project Controls staff and Program Management Information Systems (PMIS) including Unifier.
    • Assist with maintaining an appropriate central filing system for contract records and documents including maintaining an up-to-date set of contract plans and specifications.
    • Contributes to ensuring that the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and programs of LACMTA are carried out.
    • May be required to perform other related job duties.
    Required Qualifications:
    • Approximately three (3) years of experience in contract management, contract administration and/or the preparation/review of contract changes and claims for heavy construction, highway, or transit industry construction projects.
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or another related field
    • Valid California Class C driver's license.
    Key Skills and Abilities:
    • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, analytical, and confidentiality skills.
    • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel applications.
    • The ability to effectively communicate with various LACMTA departments, Project Managers, team members, LACMTA employees and contractors.
    • Ability to provide internal and external customers with a courteous and professional experience.
    • Excellent customer service, communication, conflict resolution, reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills.
    • The ability to work with a diverse workforce.

    Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $94,760 - $166,750.
