The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Information Technology Services is seeking a dynamic Organizational Change Management (OCM) Director deeply dedicated to service excellence.

The OCM Director will play a pivotal role within the UCLA's Security and Network Transformation Program team.

The responsibilities will involve close collaboration with the Assistant Chief Information Officer (ACIO), Strategy, Planning & Operations, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), and Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO).

Together, the position will oversee the conception and implementation of innovative change initiatives designed to bolster campus information security tools and practices, as well as unify the network infrastructure.

The role will encompass a broad portfolio of projects, including the deployment of cutting-edge tools and technologies to elevate information security practices on campus.

Additionally, the position will be instrumental in crafting comprehensive educational and awareness programs, fostering a deeper understanding of robust security practices within the community.

This position will lead the change management efforts needed to establish a unified architecture to support innovative technologies, centralize network operations for enhanced service delivery, and prepare ITS to vigilantly monitor and safeguard against security incidents through a unified network architecture.

The OCM Director will be an integral member of the OCM Center of Excellence (COE), responsible for coordinating change activities across UCLA's Security and Network Transformation team.

This position will be pivotal in providing insights into the benefits and risks associated with the rollout of new tools, technologies, experiences, and opportunities.

Guiding the Security and Network Transformation change management team, this position will establish a standardized change management methodology, comprising processes, activities, tools, KPIs, and reporting strategies, aligned with UCLA's vision and strategic goals.

In this role, the incumbent will champion the university's culture and values, ensuring that change initiatives align seamlessly with the institution's core principles.

General responsibilities include the development of the OCM strategy and approach by gathering inputs from the functional team, technical team, and other key stakeholders; providing guidance to the OCM team in managing and executing these strategies and approaches; creating a detailed OCM work plan for communications, training, and organizational activities, collaborating closely with the Program Management Office; monitor and regularly report on change efforts and progress using common project management activities; oversee the team and all related work concerning stakeholder engagement, OCM, communications and training activities; design and supervise stakeholder engagement plans through stakeholder assessments; assess change impacts and define appropriate change actions.

Drive organizational change using effective communication methods such as town halls, survey tools, and focus groups; collaborate across the university to provide thought leadership and change management guidance, fostering organizational readiness and supporting sustained transformational change; stay updated with industry standards, best practices, and trends in higher education; lead continual improvement efforts to enhance the effectiveness of change activities; conduct and oversee change readiness assessments; contribute to the design and implementation of hyper-care and sustainability strategies; foster an inclusive environment by building and maintaining collaborative relationships with team members, peers, and leaders; manage team member development, assisting them in setting and achieving goals for their career growth.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in one of the following fields: communications, marketing, information technology, or higher education. (required)
  • Experience in the successful delivery of change management services using defined methodology, stakeholder engagement, sponsorship alignment, communication planning, training and readiness. (required)
  • Experience supporting customer needs and articulating a strategy that motivates others to action. (required)
  • Demonstrated experience in building and managing exceptional teams and providing consistent feedback to achieve results in line with strategic goals. (required)
