    Description

    Grand Canyon University (GCU) is seeking a Students Inspiring Students (SIS) LEAD to support the mission of GCU through the SIS department.

    An SIS LEAD is a mentor for interested scholarship applicants and current recipients of the SIS scholarship. The goal is to guide new applicants and current scholars throughout their collegiate endeavors to ensure their retention and engagement, while also working on a team to provide direct support to the department's management team.

    Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:

    • Monitor applicant progress throughout the application process.
    • Act as primary point of contact for SIS Applicants and Scholars.
    • Collect and maintain students' information related to the scholarship requirements.
    • Maintain confidentiality of student records and services provided.
    • Serve as an ambassador of the SIS scholarship.
    • Data collection and research projects for SIS.
    • Work as a team to identify, plan, and implement ways to increase awareness of departmental resources and opportunities to SIS scholars.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Director or Program Manager.

    Qualifications:
    • 2.0 GPA or above in perspective coursework
    • Possess high energy and a passion for helping others succeed
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
    • Personable, outgoing, and willing to initiate interaction with scholarship candidates.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Outstanding ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks and priorities.
    • Ability to speak a second language is preferred.
    • Available 20 hours per week during hours of operation.
    • Ability to travel to our campus location in Building 46.
    Experience/Education*:

    Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
    • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a bachelor's program.
    • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student.
    • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
    *You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

    Hours of Operation:
    • Monday - Friday: 9:00am - 7:00pm
    • Saturday: 10:00am - 2:00pm
    • Preferred Availability: Ability to work 20 hours per week during hours of operation, including Saturdays
