1.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The Student Support Associate is responsible for ensuring that newly enrolled students receive a professional, enthusiastic, and welcoming start to their aviation training when starting at AeroGuard Flight Training Center.

The Student Support Associate leads the development and execution of the AeroGuard orientation process for new students in multiple domestic and international programs.

Duties and responsibilities include developing curriculum for delivery to groups of students over a 3-5-day orientation period.

Qualified individuals will coordinate scheduling of speakers, ensure smooth transition and delivery of information, establish and maintain schedules of activities that includes speakers, break times, refreshments and student on-boarding processes.

Emphasis will be placed on strategic transfer of information so that new students complete the orientation process with a strong foundation of knowledge regarding the resources that are available to them, the people they can reach out to for support, and the planned implementation of their flight training.

Upon completion of the orientation period that Student Support Associate will focus on proactive follow-up with new students to ensure their questions and needs are met during the first three weeks of their training.

The Student Support Associate will report directly to the Head of Student Advising and Compliance.


Responsibilities include:

  • Developing an orientation strategy that ensures a standardized delivery of information, policy and procedure in a building block structure. This building block structure should ensure that new students are exposed to the terms, definitions and resources needed for their daytoday training.
  • Ensure that concepts and information are delivered in a logical order that will allow new students to absorb a large amount of information in an efficient amount of time.
  • Set realistic and accurate expectations regarding a career in aviation. These expectations should accurately portray benefits of the field, but also focus on the steps and work needed to be successful within it. Additional focus should be placed on the honest communication of the challenges they should anticipate both as a student, and as a career professional aviator.
  • Ensure that students are informed of key strategic partnerships that AeroGuard is committed to. Ensure that students are aware of the benefit and value that these relationships provide.
  • Ensure that the substance and material delivered by department leads and Training staff are consistent and accurate.
  • Ensure that the standardization of the orientation experience is consistent and inline with AeroGuard priorities and Mission Statement.
  • Ensure that the orientation process is dynamic and flexible enough to address student questions throughout the week, while also maintaining a consistent schedule.
  • Ensure that the orientation process is stimulating and engaging for attendees.
  • Develop and integrate orientation materials for lectures, presentations and handouts that will provide students will information that can be accessed outside of the orientation process.
  • Develop and administer post orientation surveys that will guide continual improvement of the substance, style and delivery of information based on feedback from participants attending the orientation.
  • Foster relationships between attendees and staff member through the first month of training to include proactive engagement with students. Ensure that students are aware of the people and resources available to them, and facilitate introductions to Managers, Instructors, and Department Heads as needed.
2.0 REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

  • Associates' Degree in Public Communication, Education, etc.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Communication preferred.

2.2EXPERIENCE:


  • Minimum of 2 years in an Education Management or Student Management roles.
2.3SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Word proficiency.
  • Must be able to create, and revise, compelling and professional onboarding processes.
  • Ability to communicate at numerous levels internal and external to the company.
  • Strong organizational and followup skills; ability to investigate problems or potential problems to avoid reoccurrence.

2.4 KNOWLEDGE:


  • Thorough understanding of numerous industries
- specifically Education, Human Resources and Project Management preferred.

  • Experience with aviation is not required.
2.5 EQUIPMENT/MACHINERY USED

  • General office equipment including a personal computer, fax machine, copier, etc.
3.0 PHYSICAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • Will be working primarily inside the facility.
  • May have limited exposure to aircraft, simulators, and equipment.
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting or standing and computer use.
