    ECS is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to work in our Crystal City, VA office.

    Job Description:

    Performs routine duties and related problem solving under general guidance, using own judgment and initiative. Errors may cause some delay or expense. Competent to work on straightforward technical assignments. Contributes to complex problem solving with close supervision and guidance. May work on special projects under deadlines.

    Typical duties include maintaining and administering microcomputer and desktop systems and associated peripherals, telecommunications products, business application software, and various operating systems.

    Position requires overtime during peak workloads.

  • Install desktops, portable microcomputers, peripherals, and software products for networked, classified and unclassified, and standalone environments.
  • Detect, diagnose, and resolve desktop and portable microcomputer software and hardware failures.
  • Provide information, guidance, and instruction on use of desktop and portable microcomputer hardware and software.
  • Analyze and assess customers' service request and provide prompt technical solutions.
  • Conduct IT audits in compliance with policies governing the administration, utilization, and acquisition of desktop and portable microcomputer products.
  • Prepare progress/status reports team leads.
  • Utilize trouble-ticketing software for opening/closing tickets in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Identify and document areas for process improvements.
  • Contact and effectively communicate with users by telephone, electronic communications, or in person.
  • Prepare equipment for reuse or surplus of property actions.
  • Provide technical support for customers assigned to remote locations.
  • Perform software and hardware upgrades and installations involving multiple microcomputers configured for desktop, portable, and server operations.
  • Coordinate the disassembly and reinstallation of automation equipment in support of office relocations.
  • Required Skills:

  • 3+ years professional experience desired.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with operating systems, business applications, and microcomputer hardware platforms.
  • Industry certification(s) desirable
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Desired Skills:

  • Prior military experience.
  • Knowledge of DoD organizations, culture, and processes.
  • Top Secret clearance.
  • Master's degree.
