Duties:


This IT Specialist serves as OET's Senior Digital Strategist/Educational Technology Manager, managing and implementing appropriate technologies to support the operation of an Institution-wide educational technology and media program with a worldwide audience.


In this position, you will:


  • Develop implements and oversee the portfolio of educational technologies required to present digital educational content both nationally and internationally.
  • Manage outreach and communication in educational technology.
  • Plan for and manages IT projects to facilitate the introduction and use of new technologies that supports instructional learning and instructional design and equitable access to educational resources.
  • Develop and presents analysis and reports regarding trends, preferences, and other online activity data.

Qualifications:


For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.


In addition to the basic qualification requirement above:

Experience:

You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Service.


For this position, specialized experience is defined as experience in educational technology as an educational technologist in PK12, higher education IT professional, educational technology in a non-profit or for-profit educational technology company, or in working PK12 integrating technology into classroom instruction; and front end web development and/or product management.


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.


Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience.

Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.


Education:

No basic education requirements.


Additional information:


This position is not included in the bargaining unit.

Current or Former Political Appointees:
