    How this role drives the company forward:
    The Associate Materials Analyst plays an important role in controlling supply chain processes including the company's inventory control system. This is the entire process of ordering inventory, storing it and pulling it for use in production.

    The Associate Materials Analyst will help facilitate efficient supply chain, inventory and production processes through accurate material transactions and generation of reports.

    The Associate Materials Analyst is responsible for preparing item supply forecast files in preparation for loading into the ERP system.

    Additionally, the Associate Materials Analyst will be responsible for preparing excess and obsolescence reports to provide to management for decision making and control.

    The Associate Materials Analyst supports the job completion and closure process by performing material transactions and bringing issues to the appropriate Operations management's attention.

    The Associate Materials Analyst is an onsite role located in San Jose, CA.

    Along with data analysis skills, the Associate Materials Analyst will possess certain soft skills that enable them to handle the dynamic nature of the analyst's role effectively.

    Your effective written and verbal communication skills will allow you to present data and reports in a clear and concise manner to various stakeholders, internal teams, and customers.

    Your proactive approach to problem solving and analysis will allow you to make informed decisions. Good organization and prioritization skills will ensure you meet deadlines.

    You will work collaboratively with different departments building positive relationships to collectively implement change and initiate continuous improvements for business processes.


    What will you do:
    Ensure production jobs are transacted, completed and closed accurately and on time.
    Work with related departments to resolve issues in order to close jobs in a timely manner.
    Ensure job variances are reviewed by Operations management and the necessary approvals and/or actions are followed up on.

    As part of the job variance review, compare standard costs against actual costs for a given period in order to identify critical cost updates that may be necessary to eliminate variances.

    As part of the job variance analysis, may review item bill of materials and job routings and recommend corrective actions to Operations management as needed.

    Prepare the item forecast load file for review prior to loading it into the ERP system.
    Prepare reports to help track ERP forecast accuracy on a monthly and quarterly basis.
    Work with planning and marketing to resolve forecast issues.
    Create operational data regarding excess and obsolescence inventory.
    Report the impact of inventory cost changes on a monthly basis.
    Help analyze material flow processes to identify system improvements.
    Reconcile inventory variances suggesting root cause and preventive actions.
    Assist Buyer and Planners with resolving out of stock or material stocking issues.
    Prepare ad hoc reports as required.
    Provide support for ERP testing as assigned.
    This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
    How will you get here?
    BA/BS degree in Business or related area required.
    Minimum 2 years' experience in Operations, Supply Chain or Materials management is required.
    Must have a strong understanding of inventory analysis, excess and obsolescence and inventory control.
    Must have good analytical, verbal and written skills to communicate ideas.
    Must have strong Excel skills.

    You are amazing if you have:
    Working experience with Oracle or a similar ERP system.
    Experience in Biotech or Health Care Industry desired.
    Prior experience with inventory, shop floor and or financial controls.

    The US base salary rate range for this full-time position, expected to be located in San Jose, CA, is $80,000 - $90,000 USD.
