¿¿¿¿Position Overview**SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, operated by Stanford University, is one of 17 Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratories.


Your specific responsibilities include:


  • Construct and assemble data for budgeting, forecasting, and decision making; develop conclusions, and present highlevel summary of recommendations.
  • Serve as a business decision resource partner on matters that require financial expertise.
  • Collaborate with principal investigator(s) in the preparation and financial reporting of proposals within parameters of sponsored and nonsponsored research guidelines.
  • Work under mínimal supervision to manage the proposal preparation and/or post award activities on grants, contracts, program projects, and federal grants, both routine and complex.
  • Review and approve expenditures, advise on post award spending and commitment activity, and oversee compliance related to fund and revenue.
  • Design and perform ad hoc analyses; develop and maintain complex data models, perform sensitivity analysis, analyze large complex data sets, and reconcile complex accounts.
  • Conduct analysis and resolution and recognize exceptions. Participate in developing solutions that may require policy changes or the development of new processes; maintain broader organizational perspective in decision making.
  • Execute internal control programs established by management, research new regulations, and recommend and implement approved changes.
  • Participate as a member of a project team; support new initiatives; cooperate and adapt to changes and processes.
  • Contribute and communicate to unit and organization strategy; assist in the development of change management plans, web content, and provide support for course delivery and materials update, as needed.
  • Develop and maintain desktop procedures and process documentation for area of responsibility.
  • Participate in critical analysis of existing systems and processes and identify opportunities for process improvement. Perform system testing and analyze results.

To be successful in this position you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deliverables.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial systems, internet, and computer literacy.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of GAAP.
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to prepare materials for and clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences and client groups.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to contribute to or lead part of a multifunctional team.
