    Alliant Energy is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager Risk Services to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will set risk management policy and procedures in dealing with insurance, loss control, claims, and business risk for the company.

    As a Manager Risk Services, you administer the corporation's property and casualty insured and self-insured programs and evaluates accidental loss and business risks making recommendations on risk financing and risk control. This role evaluates contracts and performs due diligence to ensure compliance with corporate risk programs and philosophy. This manager supports enterprise risk management activities and is responsible for the protection of company assets while serving the needs of internal customers.

  • Analyzes, procures, and administers the property and casualty insured and self-insured programs, while maintaining effective relationships with strategic partners, including insurance providers.
  • Coordinates loss control issues with the insurers or as required by policy conditions.
  • Represents the company's interest in the applicable insurance advisory and industry committees and in insurer claims meetings.
  • Manages enterprise risk management activities including execution of vision, governance structure and framework. Coordinates with risk owners and ensuring appropriate risk response strategies are implemented and monitored.
  • Identifies and analyzes business risks, offering risk mitigation recommendations and assisting business units with risk assessments, encompassing areas such as risk reduction, fire protection, operational improvements, and general loss control measures.
  • Participates in due diligence reviews and assists in contract development with related insurance, bonding, credit support and business risk provisions; reviews and approves contracts for compliance with corporate risk programs and philosophy.
  • Continuously identifies and implements improvements in risk management and operational efficiency, partnering with key stakeholders to develop solutions for better financial or strategic outcomes that align with the company's overall strategic plan and ensures measures are in place to identify, assess, respond, and communicate risks and opportunities.
  • Supports the workers' compensation and claims administration functions.
  • Engage in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy's Values and help deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
  • Required Experience

  • 5 years of related experience.
  • 3 years supervisory experience or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience with the administration of claims, loss control, property and casualty insurance and self-insurance programs in both regulated business and non-regulated business units.
  • Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree Insurance, Risk Management, Economics, Finance, or related area. Preferred
  • Certification Active domestic Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) Preferred
  • Certification Associate in Risk Management (ARM) Preferred
  • Experience in insurance risk management with a thorough understanding of insurance risk management techniques.
