Reporting to the Workplace and Protective Services VP, The Director of Risk Management and Security Operations is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive risk management and security programs to protect our personnel, assets, and operations.

Your role will involve strategic planning, risk management, personnel leadership, and collaboration with all partners to ensure a safe and secure environment.


Position Compensation Range:
$144, $245,000.00

Primary Accountabilities
Develop strategy and programs to proactively monitor, identify, mitigate, and respond to risks and threats. Evaluate internal and external threat assessments to develop and implement a comprehensive risk management, security, and executive protection program.


Security Operations:

Leads, develops, and manages teams and programs associated with the full array of information management, life safety, and physical security equities necessary to sustain a safe and secure work environment.

Oversee the daily security operations for all facilities, including guard force, access control, and associated security technologies and infrastructure.


Risk Management:

Conduct risk assessments to identify risks, security threats, and vulnerabilities, and develops mitigation strategies to minimize risk to personnel, assets, and operations.


Incident Response:

Develop incident response and emergency preparedness plans and protocols to respond to safety and security incidents, emergencies, and crisis situations.

Lead and manage our incident response team to respond to security incidents, emergencies, and crisis situations. Your role will involve overseeing the identification, investigation, containment, and resolution of incidents to minimize their impact.


Security Technology and Infrastructure:
Leads efforts to develop technology and infrastructure strategy.

Implements, and manages technologies and systems, such as information management and access control systems, surveillance cameras, intrusion detection systems, and incident management software.


Personnel Leadership:

Leads a team of security and incident response professionals including security operations center, intelligence and investigations, incident response, security operations, and executive protection teams.

Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by facilitating and fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Work with team members to set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance assessments, and support on-going development. Lead with influence and expertise. Actively contribute to division or department leadership team. Communicate and support organization mission, vision, values and policies.


Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in developing strategy and programs for incident response, security operations, and executive protection
  • Demonstrated experience developing operational plans and leading teams in dynamic, highpressure situations
  • Demonstrated experience organizing and directing crisis/emergency response procedures and leading incident response teams with a proven track record of managing risk and effectively responding to security incidents
  • Extensive understanding of current emergency response management planning techniques and methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience providing customerfocused solutions or support
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing security/financial data to create provide customerdriven solutions, support or service

  • Up to 25%.

Physical Requirements
In this primarily office-based role, you will be expected to spend at least 80% + of your time (4+ days per week) working from our National Headquarters in Madison, WI 53783

You must reside within a 50-mile radius of the office location #LI-Onsite
