    Health Partnerships Manager - Houston, United States - Feeding America

    Description
    Manages health partnership and food programs in healthcare settings (i.e. food prescription, food pharmacies, medical pantries, healthcare partner-funded school pantries, hospital food insecurity mitigation programs).
    Guides internal programs, projects, grant-funded activities, and related events to grow food programs in the healthcare space.
    Guides stewardship for all partners and relationship building, with an emphasis on health partnerships.

    Responsible for establishing and executing data collection and evaluation parameters with a focus on processes to measure desired and actual program outcomes.

    Establishes and develops relationships with health partners, pantries, researchers, and service providers to successfully implement health programming and projects.

    Improves the system to successfully distribute food resources to health program participants, along with the health partners and Community Health, Economic Mobility, and Educational Services team members.

    Develops, coordinates, and delivers health program orientations and training to ensure program compliance is met.
    Collaborates with internal stakeholders to assist in grant writing.
    Responsible for coordination of site visits to all new and existing programs regarding health partnerships.
    Travels throughout HFB's service area to promote and recruit healthcare and other food bank programs.
    Meets and strategizes with program leaders.

    Coordinates internal activities with key staff members to effectively support the goals of each health partnership project, including identifying and sourcing the right product for health program participants, coordinating logistics, and measuring the impact of food distributions.

    Creates, develops, and standardizes health programming processes and procedures.
    Develops, coordinates, and delivers health program orientations and trainings.
    Compiles and presents health related reports and findings to HFB leadership.
    Develops and coordinates health-aligned collaborations and related community initiatives.
    Oversees the day-to-day activities of AmeriCorps Vista, practicum students, dietetic interns.
    Attends and actively participates in relevant community partnership groups and meetings.
    Represents HFB in a variety of settings, and conducts presentations at community events, meetings, and conferences as needed.
    Maintains a system to efficiently document health partners, projects, and relevant pantries.
    Maintains paper and electronic records of health partners, projects, and relevant pantries.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Manages one (1) or more direct reports by providing guidance and/or oversight to employees. Develops and maintains roles, responsibilities, and expectations. Practices performance management in support of employee development, and perform administrative duties associated with being a people manager. Responsibilities include interviewing, planning, assigning, directing work, and resolving problems. Responsibilities also include sponsoring and participating in and/or supporting project teams sponsored by other management team members.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education/Experience:


    Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or University in Public Health, Health Care Administration, Social Science, or closely related field.

    Masters degree preferred
    3-5 years in healthcare, human services, program development and management, food relief, or dietetics with demonstrated proficiency in program evaluation
    1-2 years of community related experience
    1-2 years of management experience
    Experience developing and delivering comprehensive presentations for leadership audiences

    Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
    Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and insurance.

    Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    The employee will need to have the average ability to hear horns, warnings, and alerts associated with a warehouse. The employee may occasionally be required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 25.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    The employee is frequently required to travel to other sites for business.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The job is generally performed while moving in a combination of indoors and outdoors, the employee is often exposed to Houston, TX weather conditions and occasionally exposed to freezers, enclosed and/or tight spaces, wet and/or humid conditions, areas in which moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals are present, and outside weather conditions.

    The noise level in the office environment is typically quiet, but the employee will be occasionally exposed to loud noise levels (e.g., horns, fans).


    TRAVEL REQUIRED
    Travel is required for this position (up to 25% of the time within our 18-county service area).

    This role supports all hours of operations at the Houston Food Bank facilities as necessary and requires a flexible work schedule.

    Houston Food Bank is a disaster relief organization, and this position is a key member of the disaster response team.
