_Today, We Are Looking For_

The
Manager, International Investment & Trade (IIT) is responsible for planning and delivering tasks that support achieving the department's annual objectives.

The Manager, II&T will identify and develop Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) prospects/leads and strengthen Houston's position as a gateway to global markets.

The Manager will also provide high-level logístical and content support for events, business programs, investment seminars, and missions. They will also support the delivery of special projects as required.


_Primary Duties and Responsibilities_

The following responsibilities are essential to job performance:

  • Respond to leads/prospects with market and incentive information and refer GHP service suppliers on a tailored basis, coordinating with other GHP teams (RED, Research, etc).
  • Maintain project information database registers up to date and generate status reports.
  • Track and reconcile II&T annual team budget.
  • Manage FDI Projects as well as support RFIs for the II&T team and Regional Directors.
  • Compile all project proposals.
  • Coordinate content, logistics, and marketing for trade missions and events.
  • Refer companies to Member Engagement when applicable.
  • Provide general international business assistance to members and prospective members involved in international activities, when required.
  • Negotiate function arrangements with commercial vendors as applicable.
  • Manage, plan, and direct all trade developments and special projects as assigned.
  • Support Directors in representing the II&T team externally with partners like the City, Governor's Office, counties, regional allies, international Chambers of Commerce, and Consular Corps as well as companies (prospects, leads), when required.

_ Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities_
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are desirable for job success:

  • Energetic and passionate about Houston.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, CRM software or similar, and other software programs.
  • Experience in maintaining good public relations with political and international organizations.
  • Professional, excellent, and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment and tact.
  • Preference for detailed work.
  • Preference for a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines, with mínimal supervision.
  • Selfmotivated and directed.
  • Ability and flexibility to prioritize assignments, and work on multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and share tasks.
  • Multilingual abilities preferred.
  • Overseas travel experience preferred.
  • Flexibility to work some overtime, as necessary.

_ Education Requirements_
Bachelor's degree required.


_Required Experience_

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a related field or regional expertise.

_ Physical Requirements_

  • Good vision and hearing acuity (with adaptive aids if necessary).
  • Manual dexterity and skillful use of computer keyboard.
  • Physical exertion includes bending, pushing, standing, and walking. Must be able to move or lift approximately 25 pounds on occasion.

_ Mental and Aptitude Requirements_

  • Job requires the ability to hear, see, and talk; analytical, conceptual, problemsolving, planning and decisionmaking skills.

_ Safety Requirements_
