    Duties
    As a Systems Support Analyst, some of the duties may be:

    • Providing IT Support by assisting administrative law judges with setting up computer hardware in hearing rooms.
    • Providing real-time technical soft-ware support during in-person and remote administrative hearings.
    • Providing a variety of general IT technical support services to judges, paralegals, and law clerks.

    You can qualify based on your education
    OR one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level,
    OR have a combination education and experience.


    Specialized experience is defined as:

    assisting administrative law judges with setting up computer hardware in hearing rooms; providing real-time technical support during in person and remote administrative hearings; and providing daily real-time IT support to administrative law judges, paralegals and law clerks for software programs and general IT support to troubleshoot issues.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

    Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

    You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.

    The duty location of this position is Washington, DC. Based on our current operating status, FERC employees are teleworking as opposed to coming on-site.

    When it is determined that our agency will be moving to the reopening phase of our Reconstitution Plan, the expectation will be to physically return to the office in Washington, DC.

    Telework days and any waiting period for eligibility will be determined at that time.

We are governed by the Office of Government Ethics (OGE) Standards of Conduct, the criminal conflict of interest statutes, and FERCs supplemental ethics regulation, which specifically prohibits FERC employees from holding certain energy-related securities. To comply with these regulations and statutes, divestiture of these securities may be required after you begin employment.     You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
