    Marcum Search has been assigned by our fast-developing client in the building product industry to spot their next Director of Sales. The perfect candidate will be enterprising and possess a high level of responsibility.

    Summary

    We are a top North American manufacturer and promoter of a building envelope product range on the lookout for a Director of Sales to guide a market-centric share growth sales plan. In this position, you will be tasked with formulating a strategy, ensuring its execution, achieving revenue targets, and driving pursuit of opportunities. As a member of the Leadership Team reporting to the COO and collaborating with other top executives, you must be an expert in the field, spearhead a dynamic sales team, nurture customer rapport, and work closely with other departments to guarantee effective, united, highly competitive execution and revenue generation within budget. If you have a track record of leading market share gain within budget and motivating sales and marketing teams to capture market share, this role is for you.

    Responsibilities

    Leadership

    Sales Strategy

    • Maintain clarity on long-term goals. Be fixated on planning and expanding company value.
    • Formulate a thorough sales strategy ensuring the company is competitively aligned with market demands and ready to swiftly adapt as necessary changes arise.
    • Analyze market trends, rival activities, and customer requirements to pinpoint sales growth prospects. Make well-informed and timely decisions.
    • Utilize technology to streamline processes and boost customer impact.
    • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and other departments to synchronize sales strategies with overall business goals.
    • Provide market feedback to internal teams to enhance value delivery.

    Revenue Generation

    • Own the responsibility for defining and achieving sales and margin objectives.
    • Analyze crucial performance indicators and decisively react to them.
    • Spearhead effective forecasting and pipeline management procedures.
    • Foresee potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
    • Create and maintain robust contingency plans ensuring business continuity.

    Relationship Management

    • Cultivate and uphold strong ties with strategic customers and partners.
    • Ensure customer contentment through efficient communication and swift issue resolution.

    Resource Allocation

    • Ensure efficient allocation of allocated resources.
    • Monitor and manage budgeted expenses.
    • Verify alignment of activities and expenses.

    Performance Assessment, Reporting, and Response

    • Regularly analyze sales performance data and present results to leadership.
    • Display enthusiasm for interpreting data and reacting decisively.
    • Discuss market trends, rival activities, and opportunities to lead enhancement and endorse investment.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in commerce, sales, marketing, or a similar field. MBA is advantageous.
    • Proven track record in executing successful sales strategies. Familiarity with building products is beneficial.
    • Extensive experience in senior sales management and field sales. Experience on a national scale is an asset.
    • Demonstrated sales, leadership, and team management abilities. Multilevel experience is a positive.
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated strategic thinking along with comprehensive analytical and CRM proficiencies.
    • Proficient in the workings of market dynamics, trends, and technologies.
    • Strong analytical, computer, presentation, and collaboration tool competencies.
    • A persona characterized by insightfulness, competitiveness, forward thinking, and persistent curiosity.
    • Rooted in integrity, inherently collaborative, and possessing a consistently affirmative set of personal values.
