    The Senior Engineer, Utility Projects – MISO will be responsible for the design and engineering of large, utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV), battery energy stor
    (BESS) projects in late-st
    development, construction, and operation within the MISO market.

    Responsibilities include third-party engineering man
    ment, design reviews, contract document development and negotiation, procurement specification preparation, punch list development, and other technical support activities.


    The Senior Engineer will be part of a team of utility-scale project execution engineers working with the east senior engineering man
    r and will serve as the single point-of-contact for technical and engineering matters for all assigned projects.


    The successful candidate will have a depth of experience in the development, analysis, and design of utility scale, transmission interconnected PV systems and battery stor
    systems.

    Experience with other renewable technologies including wind, green hydrogen, and hydroelectric is a plus. Excellent communication, task man
    ment and planning skills are needed, in addition to a breadth of technical experience.


    The position is at one of AES Clean Energy's offices or remote and will include up to 25% travel to project locations and partner offices.

    Key Responsibilities

    Develop scopes of work and technical contract exhibits.

    Seek and evaluate proposals for engineering services.

    Man
    engineering consultants and Engineer Procure Construct (EPC) contractors to develop project construction drawings and support materials.

    Perform technical project due diligence and project engineering design reviews.

    Coordinate
    dback from
    al partners and authorities (SMEs) on design reviews.

    Value engineer PV and BESS system designs to improve reliability and reduce overall project cost.

    Establish/review technical specifications of owner furnished equipment in coordination with Procurement and Sourcing.

    Technical support during construction including:
    Respond to contractor requests for information (RFIs).

    Perform quality assurance (QA)/ quality control (QC) checks in the field.

    Develop punch-lists.

    Support commissioning activities with
    al Technology/Commissioning teams and external customers.

    Review commissioning reports and analyze system performance.

    Support
    al Owner's Engineering team through financing activities.

    Support Operations/Asset Man
    ment teams to resolve technical issues at operating sites.

    Assist Development and Project Man
    ment teams with budget development and key financial inputs.

    Contribute to process improvement initiatives for the execution of safe, quality, and high-performance projects.

    Mentor and educate team on changing trends in technology, standard processes, and safety.

    Review recent technology and companies for Approved Vendor List
    .

    Attend site safety walks and identify jobsite hazards.

    Maintaining required desktop safety training certifications (OSHA 10-hour, CPR/first aid, etc.)

    Lead by example.

    Skills and Qualifications

    Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in engineering or technical field.

    7+ years professional experience in energy system design, project or land development, and/or construction.

    2+ years of experience in project man
    ment and/or consulting or as a project engineer.


    Electrical design experience including 1-line and 3-line diagram conventions, NEC conductor sizing, over-current protection sizing, utility disconnecting means requirements, equipment selection, grounding methodologies and short circuit current analysis.

    Stormwater and grading experience with an understanding of permitting constraints and limitations.

    Experience with medium volt
    collector system design.

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Ability to work in a team environment.

    Ability to lead third party consultants, vendors, and
    al partners.

    Proficient with MS Office Suite.

    Direct project experience with Procore.

    Plus Qualifications

    Graduate degree or equivalent experience in engineering

    EIT or PE qualifications

    NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification

    Experience with ETAP, SKM, PVsyst and other advanced modeling tools

    Substation/High Volt
    design experience

    Civil/structural/SCADA/commissioning engineering design experience

    Fluency in Spanish

    The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $ and $144.500/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
