Title: Power BI Developer

Duration: 12 Months

Location: Denver, Colorado

Note: Hybrid role

Job Description:

OIT is looking for a talented Power BI Developer to join our BI Program. The role involves the following technical areas:

Requirements Gathering:

Collaboration with the business and data analysts to grasp requirements and business objectives for reports & visualizations and underlying data model.
Identification of relevant data sources and attributes for the model.

Data Modeling:

Designing efficient conceptual, logical, and physical data models for business needs.
Implementing row and column-level security in Power BI semantic model.
Creation of reusable semantic data models within Power BI.
Establishing relationships between tables and optimizing data structures.

Data Source Connectivity Setup:

Connecting to various data sources including APIs, Big Query, ArcGIS maps, SQL databases, Excel files, etc.
Safeguarding seamless data extraction and transformation.
Collaborating with OIT Integrations team on integration patterns.

DAX Formulas:

Proficient in writing DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) formulas.
Utilizing calculated columns, measures, and custom calculations.

Report Creation:

Designing interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards.
Including slicers, visuals, drill-through functionality, and adhering to accessibility standards.
Optimizing Power BI reports for performance using DAX Studio and built-in tools.
