The Director will be accountable for achieving significant bottom line growth in memberships. Results will be driven by building relationships with members, soliciting their feedback / requests, doing research, and partnering with key internal stakeholders to develop membership offerings accordingly.

    YOU WILL

    • With stakeholders, devise the one-year strategic and operational plan for memberships. Report on progress of these plans throughout the year.
    • Develop effective strategy and system for member communications/conversations from onboarding, including the member profile, to renewals. There will be a focus on creating a formalized intake process for gathering member data (onboarding and continuous feedback) as well as conducting 'welcome' calls (when members join) and 'exit' calls (when members lapse).
    • Develop and execute best practice communication and engagement strategy to maximize member attendance for upcoming events, summits, dinners, exchanges, breakouts, and exclusive experiences.
    • Converse with members to understand their current challenges, identify what topics they want addressed in future meetings, and discern whose perspectives they would like to hear. Share this information with relevant newsroom staff.
    • Coordinate member-led events to meet with peers in confidence to discuss challenging topics they and their organization face.
    • Host or attend membership events (in-person and online), often securing perspectives/guests, facilitating introductions, and welcoming stakeholders. Identify hosts/speakers for member meetings about key topics.

    • Assist in connecting network members with each other providing introductions for professional contacts or business partnership discussions.
    • Coordinate and maximize member opportunities for thought leadership.
    • Devise a retention strategy and conduct subsequent outreach.
    • Track competitor memberships and identify strengths they have that Dow Jones should consider building; From this research, also identify potential individuals to join the council and work with the appropriate internal teams to ensure they're invited.
