    JOB SUMMARY

    The selected candidate will commence with our upcoming sales class on July 8th, 2024

    Candidate must reside within the sales territory.

    Sales Territory: Mount Pleasant, MI


    This role entails outside sales responsibilities involving promoting the company's products and services, and fostering relationships with both new and existing accounts. The primary objective is to aid Sysco customers in achieving success while meeting the sales and profit targets set by the company. The position may necessitate working unconventional hours such as evenings, weekends, and holidays in order to effectively address customers' requirements.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop new business, retain existing accounts, and reduce lost business to accomplish profitable sales growth and specific objectives within the assigned territory.
    • Identify and assess prospects in line with company account stratification objectives.
    • Study customer business requirements and devise a customized product and service mix to fulfill those needs.
    • Monitor market trends and offer product recommendations to customers based on their business requirements and objectives.
    • Stay informed about market conditions, product advancements, competitor products and pricing, and convey this information to customers as value-added services.
    • Address customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, availability, and product usage.
    • Provide product details and practical training to customer staff.
    • Drive to customer accounts, conventions, company gatherings, etc., using a personal vehicle.
    • Communicate with customers and handle accounts receivable when necessary, cooperating with the credit department and customers to settle outstanding balances according to approved credit terms.
    • Coordinate deliveries based on the transportation department's schedule; troubleshoot any issues that occur during the order process (e.g., out-of-stock items, special orders, low inventory, etc.).
    • Participate in company events, promotions, customer visits, and events.
    • Attend general sales and district meetings.
    • Engage in continuous training sessions.
    • Support the training of new hires upon request.
    • Review and analyze daily and weekly reports such as special order requests, customer bid files, and sales/gross profit margin data.
    • Perform administrative tasks including creating sales budgets and reports, maintaining sales records, handling credits and pick-up requests, generating sales quotes and menu suggestions, and organizing reports.
    • Additional duties as assigned.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Required Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related field OR HSD/GED and 3 years of experience in Restaurant Management, B2B, or outside sales, or equivalent relevant experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Fluency in a second language
    • Prior experience in Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, or as a Chef

    Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

    • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no multiple DUIs in the last 2 years)
    • Current automobile insurance with specified liability limits: $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident for bodily injury; $100,000 for property damage


    Requirement:

    • Required to undergo pre-employment testing (Drug Screen, Background Check).
    • Mandatory adherence to Sysco Protective Covenants Agreement.
    • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the geographical area of the designated territory.


    Professional Skills:
