Content Marketing Manager - San Francisco, United States - Numeric
Description
About NumericThe world of finance largely uses software from the early 2000s.
We're taking a first-principles re-think of how businesses manage their financial data — incorporating AI, modern design practices, and database structures that are flexible, powerful, and built to integrate with the rest of company's tech stack.
We've started with a suite of products that helps accounting teams streamline and automate their month-end close, and we're growing fast.
We are well funded and backed by great investors, including Founders Fund, Long Journey Ventures, and many founders and CFOs.
Most importantly, we have customers who love using our product.
About The Role
We're early on in the content game and are looking for a powerhouse writer to help us become the #1 resource for accounting & finance teams.
As our first dedicated content marketer, you'll deep dive into the world of finance and partner with our customers to write articles that speak to their pain points.
You'll be an experimenter identifying what works and what doesn't.You'll play around with content forms to find high-leverage channels.
You'll pitch in on our social media & email strategy to repurpose the content that you write.
You'll become a master of the world of Search Engine Optimization and thoughtfully apply best practices to help our content rank on Google.
As our first dedicated content hire, you'll play a large role in determining the future of how our brand feels and our overall marketing approach.
If successful, you'll prove out tangible, quantitative value of content by generating millions of dollars of pipeline and revenue and will build the business case for increasingly larger and larger investments in a wide range of content.
How we workWe believe that small, focused teams can have huge impacts.
This means that our team is ready to tackle projects across the company when needed and we devote enough focus time to stay productive.
We are an in-person company. We believe that when things are moving quickly, working in-person is key to providing everyone with context, adapting, and, well, it's more fun this wayWe move fast and believe that often the best way to learn is by doing.
We're genuinely excited the world of accounting (even though most of us were brand new to it before we joined).
While you may not share the same love on Day 1, we look for people excited about the prospect of re-shaping an industry and diving deep to learn about our customers.
We know that in the realm of marketing, if you're doing it right, not everything works as planned. We aim to be ambitious, creative, and understand that ~50% of what we do will fall flat. What you'll do
Learn some accounting basics and lean on internal and external subject matter experts to write with confidence on a wide range of accounting and finance topics.
Write content that converts, including driving traffic to our website by capturing search intent and linking our content together thoughtfully with the reader in mind.
Master long-form deep dives, shorter explainers, and re-packaging content across channels like LinkedIn.Partner with our customers to write case studies, diving deep to understand the before and after of implementing Numeric.
Play a role in charting our roadmap for content — what topics resonate with our audience? What bets should we double down on?
Pitch in on marketing initiatives writ large from time to time, gaining exposure to every facet of B2B marketing
About You
This is an entry-level role.
You're early in your career and excited to hit the ground running — potentially right out of college, potentially with a few years of work under your belt.
You are in the top 1% of writers. When people read what you write, they can hear a clear voice speaking. Your writing has personality. You've written for an audience before, whether that's a blog online, a college newspaper, or in a previous role.
You're incredible at taking complex topics and making them engaging.
You have a high attention for detail and easily flag errors in text.
You're excited about joining an early stage start-up — understanding that you'll need to be fairly independent and learn quickly.
Bonus Points:
You have experience with design tools like Canva and Figma and have a knack for making things look great.
You've played around with content formats like video, podcasts, or animation.
How to reach us
Send an email to with 2 writing samples. Ideally, with at least one of the two published online.
