- Support the coordination and tracking of data management and acquisition activities with cancer centers, central cancer registries, and other data providers.
- Schedule, plan, host, and facilitate meetings with scientific and technical stakeholders within agency and across the cancer center community.
- Translate complex stakeholder needs and client needs into operational plans for projects and ensure agendas, attendees, and minutes for meetings are productive.
- Promote virtual collaboration across project stakeholder groups, e.g., collaborative workspace and document repositories.
- Track and manage both high-level goals and activities and detailed tasks across teams, i.e., manage Program Plans highlighting dependencies across projects.
- Manages the day-to-day aspects of technical project work using agile techniques such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and sprint retrospective meetings.
- Assists in defining and implementing agile best practices and project management methodologies for technology related projects and routine technical work.
- Define, create, review, and maintain program and project management artifacts (e.g., meeting agendas or minutes and related decisions, action items, project schedules and timelines, tasks, issues and risks, data analysis spreadsheets, RACI charts).
- Create and review complex written deliverables to support the program, including protocols with data or workflow diagrams, and other analytical artifacts.

- Moderate science and/or technical expertise (clinical cancer genomics technology, clinical imaging used in cancer diagnosis and care, data management and analysis, real-world healthcare data captured during a patients cancer journey, information systems, cloud-based technology, data structures and formats used in healthcare and public health settings)
- Understanding of complex medico-legal issues of healthcare and public health surveillance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manner as part of a collaborative team in modern office computer applications, software, and operating systems
- 6+ years project management experience related to healthcare data
- MS Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Work for this position must be performed in the United States (required). Candidates local to Rockville, MD are preferred.Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Public Trust positions. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Primary Purpose
This position supports "Essex, a Veridix AI company". Essex is a biomedical informatics and health information technology-focused consultancy founded in 2009 and headquartered in Rockville, MD. The Essex team comprises experts with extensive experience in strategically developing and managing complex health and biomedical information programs for clients in the Federal Government, research academia, and private sectors.
This role provides strategic guidance, consultation, and management of the development and deployment of software and informatics systems to cancer centers, cancer registries, real-world data providers, and the NIH client agency. Interacts with broad stakeholder community and manages needs and feedback to ensure they are incorporated into the program in an iterative manner. Identification and management of risks, issues, policies, procedures which support the development and monitoring of cancer surveillance programs. This role will help support and/or lead technology focused initiatives and projects leveraging an agile framework.
