    Description

    The Program Director is responsible for the general administration, curriculum planning, recruitment, and teaching and supervision of the Cardiac Residency Program. The Program Director establishes the strategic direction of the Program and is responsible for the standards, quality and reputation of such. The Program Director is expected to support integration of the Cardiac Program with physician practices and hospital clinical services in a manner that enhances value and quality, and that promotes an optimal environment for professional practice and medical education.

    Responsibilities

    1. Develop and implement strategic plans, goals, and objectives for the cardiac program in alignment with St. Mary's Hospital's mission, vision, and strategic priorities.

    2. Oversee all aspects of cardiac program operations, including clinical services, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety protocols.

    3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff, to develop and implement evidence-based practices and standards of care within the cardiac program.

    4. Provide leadership and supervision to cardiac program staff, including recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development.

    5. Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the cardiac program, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and communication among team members.

    6. Establish and maintain partnerships with referring physicians, community organizations, and stakeholders to enhance program visibility, outreach, and patient access to cardiac services.

    St. Mary's General Hospital is a community-based tertiary medical center focused on providing quality, compassionate care. It is an acute care hospital providing a broad range of cardiovascular services as well as a comprehensive program for cancer care. St. Mary's General is also a center of excellence for maternal-child health and outpatient behavioral health services. It is the only Hospital in Passaic and with over 550 physicians and 1,200 employees it is one of the largest employers in the county.
