    Summary
    Working under Cosm's Controller, the Accounting Manager supports Cosm's Hollywood Park Immersive Venue.

    The Accounting Manager will help build and scale accounting operations and will have regular interaction with senior members of the broader finance team.

    The ideal candidate will have outstanding financial acumen, a passion for sports, media and entertainment, and experience with rapidly growing businesses.


    Responsibilities:

    • Lead event-driven accounting operations including event settlement, preparing journal entries, billing, A/R, A/P, balance sheet reconciliation, cost accounting, and revenue recognition.

    Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for both the entertainment venue and food and beverage operations, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

    Work collaboratively with sales, operations, marketing, and technology teams on developing accurate accounting approaches for all revenues and expenses.
    Manage cash account reconciliations, verifying the accuracy of recorded transactions.
    and investigating discrepancies, collaborating with other departments as needed.
    Monitor and maintain consistency between the inventory management system and Cosm's general ledger, Sage Intacct.
    Conduct regular reviews to ensure accurate representation of food and beverage inventory in financial records.

    Manage bi-weekly payroll uploads and reconciliation with Ceridian, connect with HR as needed to ensure process runs smoothly and efficiently.

    Partner with Cosm's Controller on month-end close duties including GL activity review, expense accrual analysis and recording, cost allocations, and budget to actual reporting.

    Assist in all aspects of internal and external financial statement preparation, including compliance with GAAP
    Assist with the development of financial and process controls.
    Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies, including those specific to the hospitality industry.
    Support financial and tax audits, and other reporting/compliance tasks.
    Participate in a wide variety of projects and compile ad-hoc reports as needed.

    Experience:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
    7-10 years of experience in accounting preferred, CPA is a plus
    Excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
    Experience with SAGE Intacct ERP or other similar cloud-based ERP systems
    Experience with Ceridian payroll processes and compliance
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Excellent analytical, organizational, prioritization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. With the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
    Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and the organization
    Strong relationship building skills, including the capacity to predict and manage behavior, build and leverage cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the organization
    High proficiency using MS Office, including intermediate knowledge of Excel (Vlookups, pivot tables, if statement functions and building spreadsheets)

    Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities.

    Demonstrated capacity for gathering/scrutinizing data to identify issues, opportunities, patterns, and sustainable business solutions.
    The annualized base salary range for this position in California is $110,000 to $145,000.

    The base salary offered will factor in internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience, among other factors.
